If i could do zero stars at this point i would. We have had horses over 50 years and have several studs of our own. We have breed our mares and public for years also. Attempting for the first time to AI a mare has been the worst experience ever. I do understand its not the same but for a vet to get in your face and continuously say "it's just a mare man" repeatedly the very first time we met her just says a alot. The techs were great and helped every time we went there. They also attempted to answer our questions. This mare was taken to Mendenhall at 6 days after foaling. She was missed then was taken again to alabama and missed again. She was then taken back to Shelbyville were we was told "well you should have had her here on 7 day foal heat" and this was Bennets DEAL. First off she was there on day 6 and NO this was Mendenhall's DEAL from the beginning. I was then text last friday and was told she was 25 and looking to breed beginning or middle this week .I was called yesterday and told they could not even get her to 20 and had given multiple injections......mare was picked up this am and looks thin. No communication and to many different stories. The worst experience...

Excellent, competent, caring staff. Worked me in as a new client on short notice. Professionally handled a mare that is frequently difficult and typically requires sedation for many veterinary procedures. They were very sensitive to hands-on time with her, got everything ready, did everything quickly with no sedation, and even had a staff member kindly walk her around and let her graze outside while I checked out, even though it was a miserable day to be outside. In my situation, I have enlisted the help more than one "specialist" for this particular mare, and after more than a year, have gotten very little concrete information on our problem, and never been steered down a clear path with her. Already, Dr. Bennet has a plan, and upcoming lab results will dictate a path. In one trip to this fairly local facility, we are in better shape than we were hauling states away. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here, or the care they provided to my mare and myself. A positive experience...

We made an appointment to have our senior horse out down. He was in bad shape and couldn’t walk. They missed our appointment and never reached out to us. After trying to get ahold of them many times, they finally answered and didn’t address not showing up. And then proceeded to tell us to wait a few more days. Our horse was suffering, but according to them, he could wait a few more days without them even seeing him. Fortunately, we were able to find someone to come put him to rest. Such poor...
