I do not recommend going here. If you have young children or are a person who likes snacks during your movie this is not the place for you.
A few weeks ago my husband and I as well as our 3 young children went here for the first time. We stopped and grabbed dinner on our way for our family. My son has allergies and itās many times easier to just get food we know he can eat than asking a million questions at a concession stand. We planned on purchasing popcorn and ice cream from the concession stand. Shortly after arriving we were approached by someone in clothes that did not identify them as an employee who stated they donāt allow outside food or drinks into the drive in. She stated we could leave the drive in and come back or load all 3 of our young children back into the car as well as ourselves to eat discreetly so nobody else knew we had it and moving forward it would not be allowed. As a mom to two toddlers and a newborn packing everyone back into seats in a van is a nightmare when weāve made the over hour drive to this location and gotten them out already. As a nursing mother to my 5 month old infant not being able to take my own drink so I have plenty of water and having to buy that much water is expensive. We were with two other groups of families both of which had there own bad experiences in other ways. The staff was enforcing rules they had but many of our interactions were unfriendly and unkind. The food was not good (we tasted our friends food they had and we not them enjoyed any of it) and everything was well over priced. Eventually I was very thirsty and my husband had to get me a drink. For two sodas and a shake he paid $18.
Following our poor experience I left a review on their Facebook page. After 6 days the owner commented as if they were an attendee and not the owner and harassed me for my review. When I gave push back and stood by my opinion the lady who told us we couldnāt have our food there commented on my review and continued to be hateful and unkind. Following the interaction the Facebook business page blocked me.
After reading many other reviews I wish weād have read them before we attempted to go here because we never would have even attempted it. I did keep screenshots of the review and exchange between myself and both the owner and manager that was on Facebook as well. All I can say is there are other options of drive ins and I would recommend driving father for a good experience over going here for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm giving my review after just now leaving The Skyline Drive-In. After reading so many glowing reviews, my wife and I were excited to head to the drive-in for the first time in many years.
First feeling entering the drive-in was fine. The lady at the box office was very pleasant. We arrived early to get a good location and it worked out fine, we just sat back and relaxed.
About 40 minutes before the show we headed for the Skyline concession stand. Several reviews mentioned how clean the restrooms were and although they were clean they were certainly cramped and didn't smell so nice.
The concession area moved people through the line quickly and were friendly enough I even tipped them a couple of bucks for which they said "thank you". The popcorn may have been fresh on Thursday but it wasn't on Saturday. Maybe you should try popping it every night instead of popping in bulk and then warming it up as needed. Pop and cotton candy were fine.
After arriving early to get a good seat location then people pulled in front and raised the rear door of their SUV blocking out more than 1/4 of the screen for us. I went and asked if they would tie down their door. They were polite and tried but couldn't figure out how so we just pulled to a different location. At this point it was nearly time for the movie to begin and now only the bottom 20%of the screen was blocked by other SUV rear doors. In the drive-in rules it states that rear doors are to be tied down to the level of the roof of the vehicle. If you're not going to enforce that rule then they should be required to park in the last 3 or 4 rows so as not to interfere with other patrons.
After being excited to go it is sad to say this will probably be our last time. It's back to the indoor cinema for us. I've never seen an SUV...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to give it a higher rating but this was my first time ever here and the security (why is there security at a drive in???) was very rude to me. I wasnāt aware my lights werenāt fully off my car didnāt show they were on and it was still too light out to see they were still on and he threatened to get the manager acting like I was being rude when I was clueless what was even going on. I went out of the vehicle fiddled around with my cars things and found out what was wrong but the movie hadnāt started people werenāt even sitting down yet it wasnāt dark yet and I was treated like I was some disrespectful jerk when ooooo!!!!!ā¦ā¦.this man straight up looked like he crawled out of a jail, yelling at me acting like I was rude for being ignorant of the situation.I am sorry but Iām actually traumatized from this and I will not ever be coming back. We had only been to Hummel drive in, in Winchester Indiana before and we will continue only going there because at least they are friendly and the food is cheaper and just as good. And thereās two screens to choose from there and I am just extremely disappointed. Also if anyone is thinking like I was oooo I wanna try the Chocola, donāt bother. I will save you the money it tastes like 1% chocolate milkā¦ā¦..I hope this review helps them higher better people but I doubt it because some people will keep coming just because they use Sammy Terrys name or the nostalgia when it probably used to be a good place back in the day but that has definitely long...
