Dropped $1100 between 3 of us for a multi day canoe trip. SRA had no resources as to where camping is past their Waynesboro camp ground, portages, dams, stores for food resupplies, where serious rapids may or may not be...
We went from Waynesboro to Harpers Ferry and when we called to have them buy back the canoes, they seemed perturbed that we went 8 miles past where they "normally" pick people up...they knew we were going to Harpers Ferry and never mentioned exactly where to port at...
Overall the trip was amazing...but we certainly could have done it with a craigslist canoe for cheaper and wouldn't have had to deal with a company that's not vested in a service that they advertise on their website...
Some reviews seem great for day trips but AT thru hikers doing this for an aquablaze option should exhaust all other...
Read moreMy wife and I are from Jacksonville Florida. We came to the Shenandoah area to spend seven days for our 24th anniversary. We did many things; two days in DC, historic battlefield sites, caverns, museums, and spent one day canoeing the Shenandoah river through Shenandoah river adventures. At the end of our trip, we looked at each other to see what adventure or outing we both liked the most. We both completely agreed that the canoe trip with Shenandoah river adventures was by far the best day we had. The trip was amazing, the canoe was great, And the owner and her daughter was absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait to come back with our kids and do this trip again. I highly recommend, so worth the money and worth the time. 5 stars, and...
Read moreCustomer service was great. Friendly people and nice area to rest. Hell, we went 2 times down the river. Problem is we found out later by locals that even the locals don't swim in the water because of heavy pollution. We did our research and almost the whole Shenandoah River is heavy polluted with Ecoli. My girlfriend had a leach on her when we made our way around the island to get the better rapids. There are beer cans and trash in the waters near the dam. I was happy until I found out how polluted the waters are. Really upset that I paid to essentially swim in sewer water. Shame on you for letting people pay you money and not letting them know how disgusting...
