The staff is wonderful! We never had a bad customer experience at this food shop. This 1 star review is 100% about the CSA portion of this store's offerings. There were severe oversights to customer privacy of personal information resulting in multiple data leaks.
First and foremost, I was uncomfortable with my personal information being displayed week after week on a clipboard (the place where CSA members put a check-mark next to their name to indicate they picked up their "food box"). I suffered many data exposures this year and the only place that had my name, email, payment method and other information for the public to view was this CSA operation.
Secondly, we were told our expenses would average $100 per month. With the higher cost of the food at this store, that meant we were only able to grab 1 or 2 or a small handful of the produce. Hardly worth a trip to the food store to pick up enough produce to feed 2 adults for 2 days, if that, because a lot of the produce was tiny sized. Apples barely larger than the size of golf balls, or white apples that were dry, flaky and inedible, to the various repeat items they would have of stuff we didn't even desire like scapes and broccoli leaves. Additional to the financial portion of this CSA was an unsuspecting charge mid November when the last time we were allowed to pick up food was October 30th. I was told it was part of the contract I agreed to earlier...
Β Β Β Read moreReally, I was just looking for somewhere to get local produce without the drive to my favorite farmers market in Portland. But when I saw that Open Table serves Saturday brunch, I couldn't resist.
If you like your French toast an inch thick, with the luscious texture of bread pudding and topped with fresh blueberry compote, fresh raspberries and strawberries, and real whipped cream β well, this is your place. It was gently sweet with the sweet-tart berries. Perfect.
The market is perfect, too β like a farmers market in miniature. I got a beautiful little Sharlyn melon, peaches, pluots, delicata squash and corn. I'll be back for the locally produced chicken, fish, meats and eggs.
Already planning to sample more brunch dishes, bring friends to try the wood-fired pizza at Friday night happy hour, and get tickets for their next farm...
Β Β Β Read moreI want to tell you not to go here because if you find out how great it is you will tell others and it will become everyone's favorite Saturday brunch spot. This was my first visit and I think it will become my regular Saturday routine. The meal I picked was an open face bacon and egg sandwich that came with a small salad. Perfectly cooked egg. Can't wait to try the other options. After eating we took a bucket out and picked some blueberries. If you plan to pick be aware the ground is not groomed so holes and trip hazards. The store has lots of produce to go crazy over. Update- Brunch is now extended into fall...
