Fly fishing Mecca!! The tailwater section is truly Fly fishing Heaven. Was here first week in June 2018. Walked upstream from Cottonwood Campground to the "ET" Rock. In the evening I could not believe the numbers of monster trout circling and breaching like whales around the 3 very widely spaced fishermen in the river. A bit buggy but thoroughly enjoyed watching the scene unfold. So serene. Visited and stayed in the busy Cottonwood Campground where several precious shade trees (cottonwoods) had unfortunately suffered moderate fire damage caused by careless campers. There needs to be a dedicated effort to establish fresh plantings for future shady stays. No showers but decent restrooms. Campground was full with large RV's. Generator noise was a bit bothersome, at times. Note - Watch and stow your stuff and securely pack it away as there were several marauding racoons each night trying to get into my car and cooler. Bathroom. nd restraunt is located next door and up the road. Also boat rentals. Camping spots at Cottonwood camp grounds. Its good to reserve yours camp sites ahead of time. Becuz it will fill up.
