UPDATED: 3/27/19 Open Range is a joke when it comes to any warranty work. In three warranty appts they have had our trailer nearly 6 months out of the 2 years we have owned it. Open Range will only let warranty work happen after they authorize and send parts to dealer. For a usb port it took them 8 weeks. For the door to the utilities on the back of the trailer another 6 weeks or so. These guys don't care and or are incapable of efficient warranty work. My advise to you is buy a year or two old trailer, let people like me eat the 40% depreciation and work the kinks out with all the manufacturing defects, then buy our stuff.... Wish I had done that! Go to Open Range Facebook for more info like I am sharing.
On 3/14/17 our family (four kids 3 – 7 yrs old) bought our 1st large purchase outside of our home. It was also the 1st time that we purchased anything brand new. I had told the kids for the past 3 years that we are going to buy a trailer for fun when we are able to financially. We shopped the (2) open range dealers within 90 miles of our S. CA home. After going to Rv Solutions and speaking with Richardson’s Rv we opted for Richardson’s. Star our salesperson, was wonderful. She was the best part of this purchase by far. The salesman at RV Solutions was rude after we decided to take our business to Richardson’s. After we bought our trailer we took it out the following weekend for a two day trip. There were a number of items that we found that needed warranty work. (hot water only at sink, cold water only at shower, drawer glide broken, dvd player broken, door gasket torn, microwave piece missing, etc). Even with that though we were excited to be trailer owners and our kids had a blast. When we returned home we called the dealer. We were told by both that appts were months out. We called Open Range and they reluctantly ok’d us to use a non-dealer for repairs. The non-dealer, County RV, has been great. They have been very helpful and we have been a part of the emails between them and Open Range. Open Range on the other hand has been a nightmare of excuses, apologies, and non-responses. Long story short. Highland Ridge still has not gotten the parts to the repair facility. We are entering our 4th month of not having our RV that we had literally for one week after we bought it new. I see emails from Open Range saying that they are a week out on getting parts out from date of approval. They forgot to mail the last ones and promised next day air, last week and we still don’t have them. There is a recall on 20 LED lights in the trailer that are a fire risk they said. They won’t send the new lights to the non-dealer and state that we need to set an apt and take the trailer to the dealer after we get it back. At this rate summer will be ½ over before we get to use our new trailer. Overall I wish I had bought a quality pre owned and avoided this horrible experience. The trailer seemed very nice but this experience has surely soured my feelings about Highland Ridge...

In for thermostat not operating properly, fuel gauge not working, soft spot in floor of bathroom and kitchen (perfect line along seam of sheathing) Initial dealer dropped the ball and in 3 1/2 months fixed 1 issue (thermostat) with the fifth wheel. Never even investigated to pursue the other problems or report them to the manufacturer. Moved camper to another dealer with the help of Highland Ridge, and the proof that it was dropped off at the prior dealer within 1 year of purchase. New dealer sends pictures and description of issue with the floors (seam of sheathing is not lined up with aluminium joists in sub floor). Dealer recommends repair. Highland Ridge determines that there is no issue, within spec and refuses any repair. I speak with (Tiffany"team leader") Highland Ridge again, they say they will contact the dealer again. I call to follow up, Dealer informs me that Tiffany called and said that they would not cover the repair. I had explained to Tiffany that besides myself, 2 of their dealers had acknowledged the problem. I have had the trailer for 1 month of the year 2019. Highland Ridge despite 2 dealers saying there is a problem and pictures showing that the seam of sheathing is not over the aluminium joist. Tiffany told me that because the floor is layered and has a top layer and bottom layer of sheathing with the aluminum joists and foam between the layers of sheathing that the seam does not need to be over the joist. The location of the soft spot is exactly along the line of supported sheathing and the next piece of sheathing with support further away. I would recommend that any one looking to purchase an RV to look anywhere other than anything from Highland Ridge. I thought that all the stories were untrue with their initial support and effort but ultimately they decide that it is better to screw the customer than stand up and repair what is obviously a manufacturers issue. I allowed for ample time and have in no way been rude or belligerent the pay back for this has been to get stuck with a very expensive unit with soft spots in the floors less than a year after purchase and no support from the manufacturer. I have spoken at length with my current dealer and the technician working on it, both repeatedly apologize and tell me they can't believe how this has been swept under the rug by Highland Ridge. Find any other company that will do anything ?!?, you will be ahead of anyone with a Highland Ridge. They are as bad as the first Dealer (Browns RV in South Carolina). Never ever do business with these lazy, dishonest...
Read moreBuyer Beware! We purchased our 2019 Highlander 350H out of our area we did not know it would have to go to a dealer to get repairs. Our first trip dry camping the refrigerator would not cool on gas so we had to run the generator or use an ice chest to get our groceries cold. The black tank flush did not work, a fender & gas line came out of place, there were no pins to secure the ladder, the blind on the front door was broken, the pluming under the kitchen sink was cross threaded & flooded the kitchen, the front door hits the light before the rubber stop, only one of the rear brake lights worked, the board under the bed was cut so poorly the mattress has splinters, the fuel cell only holds 25 gal advertised as a 30, the garage was advertised as a 13’ but is 12’-6” I know the because my Polaris is 12’-6” and ruined the powdercoat on my bumper, the out side power receptical did not work, the key would not work in every lock due to dryness., the back patio containment hinges are bent, and the convertible sofa legs were rusted (as if they were stored outside) and my leather recliner chair was scratched. So I sent an email to Highlander and told them I had 10 or so issues with the trailer and if they would allow me to take somewhere near me I just wanted the fridge & flush repaired I would handle the rest. I received a quick response to get a service estimate from a local repair shop which we did and got an immediate request for a better diagnoses. So the diagnoses fee gets covered if the repairs are done there. It ended up being a bad burner tube on the fridge & a kinked feed on the black tank $200 in & out. After sending multiple emails with no response I paid out of pocket for the repairs on a brand new product under factory warranty. We still have had no response from Highlander we just purchased this toy hauler in April! I would never recommend their product to anyone to anyone. All they had to do was respond my emails regarding the repairs and this review would never have...
