Allow me to save you time, money and AGONY! If you’re thinking about purchasing anything from Bob’s- DON’T. We searched local furniture stores for a sectional with sleeper option and Bob’s was the only store that offered this. The sales team at the Joliet store was fairly decent, we walked in and took a look at the sectional options and purchased the sectional CASH $$.......a month later, no call, no email or notification I called to check on the status of our order. It turns out our sectional had been ready to be picked up and no one notified us. The gal at the DC center was nice until she asked for an ID- my drivers license was expired... she informed me I couldn’t pick up the furniture without a valid ID (in the middle of COVID restrictions). I looked thru my purse and found my state ID (still valid) the furniture was loaded and we arrived home to unpack the sectional...( takes deep breath) the furniture was scuffed in various places, dirty in others and we were missing one of the sectional supports!! I called customer care within minutes after noticing and filed a claim. The young lady assured me a check for a credit (SMALL CREDIT) would be mailed 7-10 business days..... 19 days later, no check in the mail. I called customer care and was informed I was given store credit due to the original form of purchase .....WHICH WAS CASH! Sigh..again we’re on the phone with customer care and we’re given a “credit memo” receipt that actually shows a BALANCE for the amount of the promised credit! At this point I want to take back the entire squeaky sectional (less than a couple months old) I received a call back from the young lady in customer care and was I informed a manager “had looked into it” and the check would need to be approved. I asked for an email confirming the information and she said the computer “won’t allow that”. .... still no check, credit or email. I will be contacting BBB. My experience was...
Read moreWe have never had an issue with Bob's furniture until these past couple days! We purchased a couch and recliner from the store in October, October 3rd 2024 to be exact. We had an issue purchasing this couch because it WAS SO EXTREMELY POPULAR that the delivery/pick up date was so far out. We picked it up and decided this week November 25th 2024 we wanted to grab another recliner. We called the Joliet location and we were told the couch/recliner was not sold anymore and we would have to purchase a floor model. Ok cool no worries. I asked if they could check their inventory to see who might have one they said they couldn't do that? Ok....
I then called 10+ locations in Illinois and Indiana because Im willing to travel. These are brand new we would like to purchase another. Every store i called they didn't have it, or it was sent to the outlet in Villa park or they couldn't check any near by stores.
So i finally contacted Corporate to see if maybe they can check their database. A woman answered. She never gave me her name AND SHE WAS EXTREMELY EXTREMELY RUDE! The woman told me the couches are gone and i am out of luck. She told me no she cant check inventory through out the whole United States to see if anyone still has one. She wouldn't do anything. Horrible customer service! HORRIBLE
I purchased these couches last month. Now you're telling me you cant help me find another? You wont let me return them or exchange them? Your company literally told us "your out of luck"
I Have never delt with such rude people and it's funny how pushy their sales people are for you to purchase when you come in to look but once they get your money they wont help you at all after that!
Just a heads up to whoever wants to purchase furniture from them be careful you might go purchase it tomorrow and the furniture is gone...
Read moreIt is too late for me, but not for you. Had I known then (July of 2018) what I know now, I would have never set foot in this store. Within two years of owning Bob's Furniture, both chaise lounges and ottoman of our sleeper sofa sectional have collapsed and Bob's will not acknowledge the purchased warranty, arguing that they do not cover 'normal wear and tear.' They offered to cover the numerous fabric tears as the couch is coming apart at the seams and in some areas not even on a seam; the tears actually occurred around a year of owning the couch; well before a couch jumping toddler and dog added to the damages. Other items purchased at this time: dining room table needed a tightening of all leg screws and the china cabinet door does not fully close to this day; that stopped closing properly within 6 months of our purchase.
I have filed a claim with BBB and urge all person's who experienced similar things to do the same. Coincidentally while venting at work about my frustrations, my coworker had almost identical experience with their sofa sectional, which was not the same make and model. They also reported dining room chair back supports coming loose. We are anticipating finding many more victims of Bob's inferior products and bag of magic bean's warranty they sell through Guardian. Contacting the Attorney General and local channel news will be the next step. Surprised a class action suit has not already developed over their inferior furniture.
If, however, you do not intend to use whatever items you purchase then you should have no issues with Bob's, but would still argue you are paying too much as their furniture is not...
