A fun quick stop with a swimming hole!. Don't use the Google maps GPS directions for this location- it will lead you down a dead end of a private driveway that doesn't have trail access; instead use the ones for Bob Brugmann Suspension Bridge, Shrewsbury, VT 05738

Nice hike. Good parking spot on hi way 7 at Appalachian Trail parking spot. Google Maps takes one to the other end of the trail.

Great weekend swim spot! Really pretty area with swimming holes and a suspension bridge. The AT/LT passes right through here, so it makes a good spot to meet some thruhikers and do trail magic. The Clarendon shelter/campsite is just one mile north of the gorge along the trail, so you could also dayhike up to it and back or do a short overnight if you just want to take the family camping...
