The Big Four Bridge is a six-span former railroad truss bridge that crosses the Ohio River, connecting Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana. It was completed in 1895, updated in 1929, taken out of rail service in 1968, and converted to bicycle and pedestrian use in 2014.

The Big Four Bridge is a historical landmark that I had the privilege to add to Maps. It has a lot of stories behind the building of the bridge that I won't go into, however, maybe someone from our city of Sidney would like to engage you. Anyway, our bridge can be seen from almost anywhere from the downtown area. It has the Ohio river that runs through it. It's close to our known cemetery Graceland. It has railroad tracks that sit on top that is still used to this day. And there are tunnels inside the bridge that are sometimes walked through by trespassers. I'm not going to say whether or not I've had the opportunity to see downtown Sidney from one of the passages in the tunnel 😁 It also has an old iron bridge that sits along side of it that is no longer in use. The poor big 4 bridge is a historic landmark. Yes does it have the love it should have no. It needs lots of historic society and railroad love. It's a wonder in Shelby County and Sidney ohio with not the amount of love it should have. Even if it was cosmetic it would have some love it needs.
