Shelby County Transfer Station — Local services in Sidney

I really don’t understand the hate towards this location or the woman running the office, I went there and was only charged $24 dollars for months worth of trash, I had to buy a hard hat and safety vest as well, but they were really reasonably priced especially considering it’s a one time purchase and you get to keep it. On top of all that this horrible demon lady that everyone is complaining about in the reviews was actually really nice and helpful, I think most people around here just don’t know how to treat customer service workers with any ounce of respect so they get mad when they don’t get treated like a precious baby after they’re openly rude...

Do not ever use this station. I went there for the first time today. I had a small suv full of household trash. I told the woman working the scales i was here for the first time and had just household trash. She weighed me and had me dump my trash. After i dumped, i came back and she gave me a total bill of $40. She never told me they have a $25 gate charge and there are no signs that state that. I want my money back republic. That is horrible dishonest business and i will never be going back. Put up a sign or tell people about the cost, don't do...

I genuinely do not know what everybody else is talking about with rude people and it being expensive. The lady we spoke to was not rude at all, and was very patient and very helpful with all of our questions. As long as you do your very basic research before going then you won’t have any issue. All you need to know beforehand is A minimum fee of $24 (i don’t know much that covers but we dumped 220 lbs of trash and the minimum fee covered it) you need a hard hat and hi-vis vest (they sell them both for $8)
