A phenomenal surprise awaits you as you get to the bridge & boardwalk. My family & myself were floored by the spectacular flow of water coming over the falls. The oasis of power & beauty are something you need to experience in person. Bring your camera! My sons & I hiked the trail that goes above the falls, which was a pretty easy hike for us. We also explored all of the caves surrounding the falls. None of the caves were so big that my adventure seeking teenagers could get lost. The biggest ones were the size of large rooms, but all of them had awesome natural features. This place is truly worth the trip if you have the time.
Side note: As of June 2024, in order to enter the park, we had to get a vehicle day pass, which was $10. Thankfully, I had that in cash. Especially since there was not a ranger at the station when we arrived. So I had to pay on my own at the signage just past the ranger station. Read moreThis is a busy tourist/picnic attraction, the parking was full when we arrived, we returned 45 minutes later and got into park to see the falls. The amount of people was good though any more and it would have felt crowded. I thought the falls were going to be bigger, not really worth an hours travel. The caves were cute caves. Also, a good place to bring young children, parking is .1 miles great for non hikers!(Elderly folks!).The state park beyond the falls, beautiful canyon with rock climbers was almost as interesting as the falls. Good escape from the heat of I-70 corridor during the summer. The water is very clean rushing from the falls, smelled like a waterfall, that was the best part, the energy of falling water is special. The reservoir with many paddle boarders en route looked magical if your into that...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place to visit filled with caves to explore, an amphitheater and of course the stunningly beautiful triple waterfalls. Coming from the North the signs are easy to find the falls, however when coming from the south we could not find signs, got lost and ended up using Google to find our way. There is a fee if you do not have a state park pass and unfortunately a national park pass does not work- they made us pay to get in however it was worth the...
