This place is an oasis in the desert; I adore Faywood Hotsprings for a myriad of reasons, but the first and foremost has to be the community. Having been to many a hotspring in my life, I have enjoyed varied temps of water, types of pools, accommodations, etc But none of them have had as much of a community feel as Faywood. The springs are phenomenal, with each set offering 3 levels of heat, with Very, Hot, and Cool. There are the: -Public Clothes optional baths, a short walk from the clubhouse -Public Clothes Required Baths/spas -Public pools in the clothes optional side of the area -private pools best for groups Any of the public ones you go to ate amazing, and the people are always fun. Some shy, some eager to talk. All sexes, ages, colors and lifestyles. It's relaxing, it's bonding, and even if you never met the other person before after a few minutes in a hot bath together it's ridiculously easy and comfortable to speak. The 24 hour Clubhouse offers great amenities to cook, brew coffee, have some tea, play a game, or just enjoy another community centered place. The nature is amazing, trees, plants, grasses, and so much more. Prices are on point as well, and definitely affordable. All in all, it's a fantastic place I love visiting, and will continue to visit for years to come.

A weird little oasis! I spent just one night at Faywood, but I loved it and would definitely stay again in the future. You are basically in the middle of the desert, so expect things to be sandy and have some bugs. The young woman who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a cute little shed/house/room and while it was sparse, it was clean and perfect for a short stay. My fee also gave me full access to the public hot spring pools (regular and clothing optional) as well as a 1-hour session in a private hot spring tub. Both were lovely and were set against the beautiful New Mexico landscape and sky. The only things that could be better are, more lighting around the grounds at night, particularly around the pools, and a better system for the gate when leaving in the morning, I had to dig through my paperwork to find a code to unlock a gate in order to get out. They could probably benefit from more staff to clean the spaces, and man the desks/gate. Overall a really great summer camp like experience, as long as you go into it with proper expectations, I think you'll find it to be a really cool little gem in the desert.

I've stayed at Faywood twice and I'm about to head back again. I had to laugh at the negative reviews here - y'all are exactly the kind of finnicky humans I need a vacation from. Faywood isn't a "resort"; I agree. I don't go to resorts because I don't enjoy being pampered, I can't stand pretentious spa culture, and I generally don't understand the appeal of bourgiousie "relaxation". I don't care if the pools are intimate. I don't mind that the water isn't tended to immediately between guests. It feels amazing! I've met some cool people here, and reuinited with hitchhiker friends who came to camp. The cabins are just tiny houses with basic amenities. If you require better glamping equipment, go away. My favorite part is that it's hard to find and is in the middle of nowhere - it's an awesome secret! I hope it stays only minimally popular and doesn't become a tourist attraction or an actual resort. Faywood, I'm your biggest fan. I'm bringing my laser pointer for the kitties. I hope I get woken up before dawn by curve-billed thrashers and have more weird encounters with owls. I miss the sound of gravel under my feet.

Faywood Hot Springs in unlike any other place I've visited. I LIKE IT. If you want an upper middle class California type Spa replete with bar and restaurant, Faywood is not. I love nice Palm Springs resorts too, but I don’t expect that in the high desert in an ancient hot springs oasis in remote southern New Mexico. But it's NOT a 'shabby' run down dump either, as another reviewer sort of described it ! Faywood IS: an ancient natural hot springs with an interesting history, look it up, in the high desert of South Central New Mexico not far from Silver City & Deming. Many visitors drive there just for the day from Las Cruces & El Paso & Tucson. The several A-frame cabins are not "shabby, dusty" as the negative reviewer said. They don't have artsy bathrooms and faux 'fine art' on the walls; the CABINS are clean & rustic, one large room spacious enough for a family, one bed for adults, a sleeping loft for kids with sleeping bags; a kitchen sink with refrigerators & microwaves & coffee makers & kitchen table & chairs; a small bathroom with a shower. The cabins face away from the sandy trails into the chaparral which grows around the tufa mound in the center of the oasis whence the hot mineral waters flow and are cooled in several vertical tower-tanks atop the mound. The cabins have a nice screened in porch, where you could sleep in the cool desert nights, if you wanted to. Off each porch is a mostly private picnic table & charcoal grill if you like to cook out. There are hook-ups for RVs & primitive camping sites too. There is one old real Adobe cabin which is very small & inexpensive but has no bathroom (it’s a ‘real’ old Adobe), but a bath house with restrooms & showers are very close, as well as an old fashioned outhouse. There is a VERY nice main building where the office is, and a new beautifully tiled Spanish colonial style ‘cloister’ garden. There is a laundry in the main building too. They have a small store also with some basic supplies & food items, but also a nice collection of Indian pottery for sale, ancient and new, many pieces are in the Mimbres Indian tradition, the ancients who used the springs centuries ago. Sand trails meander the property & it’s easy to get lost, but also easy to find your way back to your cabin or camp site or favorite tub. Much of the oasis is clothing required, and part is for clothing optional (no ‘nudity required’ areas) . The owners seem to want to keep the place free of strict intolerant rules, and let people be who they are, free in the ancient desert, & just doing unto others what you’d have them do to you. And what results is not a hedonistic party place! Many Americans see the words “clothing optional” & think “sex, drugs, & rock-n-roll”. Faywood is not like that at all. Family friendly, singles friendly, people friendly, It’s a QUIET slow paced place to relax and meet new friends of all sorts & cultures. Even the critical reviewer mentioned the incredible night sky. Yes the stars are so brilliant as to seem surreal. It’s a place to retreat from the world for a while & be as lonely or as social as you wish to be. I’ve been there 3 times & will go back again soon. Each time, I’ve met some of the most interesting people there of all kinds: ordinary friendly travelers, retired RV-ers, intellectuals, artists, plain people, beautiful people, gay people, straight people, & everything in between. Take food, sun screen, hydrate, and don’t expect a ‘wild ride’, it’s a desert...

TERRIBLE GUEST SERVICES!

Pools were great, a little dirty but the scenery was decent. On the other hand, management is less than accommodating and of no help at all!! Terribly rude as well. DO NOT EXPECT ANY FORM of great customer service in any way which so ever!! Not guest friendly whatsoever! We had a soak in the Blue Moon private pool and when it was time to leave we realized there was no door handle. We called the emergency phone number listed multiple times and no answer. We were stuck behind the gate with no door knob, and to top it off stuck in complete darkness. It was a rather terrible, little frightening experience to say the least. Not knowing what insects or creatures could bite us in the dark. After many attempts to were able to use our towel and a stick to get the lock button and cylinder open without a handle. The next morning we called to let them know what had happened and were told there was absolutely nothing to compensate for. I was not looking for a handout, but not even an apology was given for the trouble we went through that evening. Appalling customer service! Will not be going back and will not recommend Faywood to any others because of the terrible customer relations through management. Unfortunate, because Faywood is a nice, relaxing place. I cannot do business with anyone who does not care about the customers. No customers deserve this attitude and I personally cannot recommend this type of business to anyone else. Customers are the livelihood of thriving businesses. I wouldn’t want anyone else to get locked in after hours and for management to say it’s not...
