My time here was so memorable, could be tricky for some with not the proper footwear. Beware of wildlife such as snakes and such. Don't tempt fate if you see a snake, please go the other way. Some people seem to want to take their chances and poke a stick, please don't. This is their home not yours. Beautiful place to visit, and nice little places in and around Gila to stay. Please be mindful of the land, but enjoy the amazing views!

Massive and beautiful. You need a few days to probably visit all points of interest. You also can't beat that night sky. We visited some camp sites and there was plenty of availability on a weekend. Some considerations would be to have your safety equipment ready, inflated spare tire, cross, inflator, jack, downloaded offline maps, etc. There is no cell phone coverage in much of the area. The roads are winding and can be dangerous.

We love national forests. They usually have really good maps and dispersed camping. This forest doesn't disappoint. The drive 7.7 uhas lots of switchbacks, so it's slow but beautiful for the riders. If you want to hike a bit, you can find hot springs. We didn't really look. The river was cool and refreshing. Many places to pull over and walk to the water.

Fav camping spot stays cool during day is always cold af at night. Some spots have bathrooms (would suggest bringing tp anyways sometimes they run out) grills and areas that are water accessible. Never have service on phone. Would suggest bringing own firewood in wet months as well as a tarp for your tent. Very curvey roads deer will jump out in middle and suggest getting gas at least an hour before getting to the...
