Was there for the grand opening. It wasn’t as crowded as I would have expected, but it was a rainy day. The aisles are wider, but all that means is that people take up more space in the aisles anyways so you still have to go around people cause people don’t pay attention. They had bookoodles of Costco staff around, not only for the store, but they even had some of staff from their Harrisburg store helping out. A lot of them were just standing around talking. But somewhere helping. The extra pumps on the gas station are nice to have. The lines at the gas station weren’t long at the time I was there. I’m sure there’s more people discover it. It’ll get longer, but at least they have more pumps so things should move faster. I like having the Mechanicsburg store because even though both of them meaning Mechanicsburg and Harrisburg are about the same distance from me, for the Harrisburg one I don’t have to travel across the river to get to it so it’s actually less traffic. I can actually take all back roads and avoid highways to get to the Mechanicsburg store. I wish they would’ve made the mechanics for Store a business center cause there are some nice things they offered a business center. They don’t offer a regular store, but maybe they’ll get a business center in the area soon who knows. Now, if IKEA would just come, that...
Read moreThe first thing we noticed was the parking area. There is ample space with clearly marked boundaries. The store layout was familiar and predictable with a few changes that were easy to adjust to. One of the things we like most about Costco is the generous number of organic items they carry. The item selections were good with only a couple of our favorites omitted. Those being -Mayorga organic artisan whole bean coffee. -Stacy's organic pita chips. We were also hoping to find the two pack of heavy duty extension cords, but weren't surprised when we did not find them. The prices were all more than reasonable. The service at checkout was friendly and well managed. Our overall impression is that this store has much to...
Read moreThe wotkers were doing their absolute best on opening day. I was terribly overwhelmed by the crowd but that crowd is to be expected for the grand opening. There was staff diligently sweeping filth customers dropped off the floor and observing the kitchen staff they were running like a finely oiled machine and the girl calling out orders keeping everything moving and the counter clean. I observed the kitchen run for a solid 30 minutes (didnt realize I needed to go to the side window to pick up whole pizzas) and I can say they were maintaining cleanliness and...
