A very peaceful and nice abbey with spectacular views of the valley around. Founded in 1882 from the Abbey of Engelberg in Switzerland, they maintain a monastic tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. The Romanesque-style Abbey church is the center of life on the Hilltop. On a clear day, you can be treated to spectacular views of the cascade peaks such as Mt.Hood, Mt.Adams, Mt.St.Helens and more. The abbey has sprawling lawns and gardens, you can spend an hour or more walking around it, taking in the serenity.
The Abbey has a very nice Guest house, Retreat Center, a Bookstore and a Museum! There is adequate parking, you should plan on spending at least a couple of hours to visit the entire abbey and...
