Bring quarters so you can feed the hatchery fish, and look for the gigantic ones in the corner between the two overlook decks/docks. Also feed the fish from the shore on the right! They flop all over and will come quite close. Be careful walking over to the opposite shore's dock, as there's a compost pile there that draws yellow jackets. Make sure you stop to admire the water of the Metolius river, because at the bridge is Wizard Falls. It's really just a gorgeous optical illusion where the water is a fantastic aqua color due to the way it cascades over the bedrock at the bridge. There is no waterfall. But you can see the Headwaters of the Metolius if you drive down a bit, where looking one direction gives you a view of the river and looking the other direction lets you see the river sprouting from deep in the earth. I recommend bringing a little ziploc bag to put the pellets into, otherwise you'll be walking around holding the fish food for a while..lol They also have a change machine if you have dollars you can exchange it for quarters to buy the little pellets. I was always giddy with excitement and couldn't wait to get my handful of fish food to offer to the fish. Heck if I was lucky, maybe I'd get to feed some geese! 30 years later and they are still working magic at Wizard Falls.
