Terrible experience, we purchased a dining table and chairs from Southern Farm house furniture. I have 3 young kids so when we were in the market for a new table we knew we wanted something that could withstand pretty much anything as this would be the table we would be using daily with our young children. When I found a table that we were considering on purchasing Abby repeatedly told me that this table could withstand anything! She said it would be the perfect table for my needs and would not leave water ring marks, scratches, etc. I wanted to make sure I didn’t get a table that constantly left water rings bc like I said I have 3 young kids that aren’t exactly the neatest eaters. I was convinced this table would be durable and fit our needs. I then picked out chairs, we picked 6 chairs then 2 end cap chairs but the legs on these chairs were dark wood and Abby told me it would be an easy fix to have the color match my other chairs. So, we went ahead and felt more than comfortable purchasing the table, chairs, and matching barstools. Well, after purchase she informed me the end cap chairs could not be painted to match my other chairs after all or she said she could have it done but couldn’t guarantee them to match. This was problem number 1 and I just let it go bc it ended up not being an eye soar when the set was in my dining room. What do you know, within 2 weeks I have spots on my table and let me tell you my kids could sit down to eat a meal and id wipe down the table immediately and BAM a spot was already there. I called her and she told me this have NEVER happened before and to try the steel wool that she gave me in my care package. Ohh, it then took my finish off. She told me maybe the sealer failed and they would come and pick it up and reseal the table. I thoughT ok, I’ll let it go after all she’s making it right. Maybe the sealer really did fail? Of course it took them over a month to come out to get my table to reseal it, but I let it go bc they were busy with the holidays coming up and after all they are making it right. Finally, they picked up my table and offered me two options to use the same sealant they used the first time (this is the sealant that I was told would not leave marks and worked on ALL of their tables) or use a new sealant but this sealant could change the color of my table but of course they couldn’t tell me how dark it would make my table so I said just go ahead with the original sealant IF you think this will take care of the problem. She reassured me it would! In the meantime, I picked up 2 barstools from the furniture store and actually talked to Abby in person and I told her I’m really disappointed and if after resealing my table I’m still having problems can they provide me a refund? She said YES, but that won’t be the case bc she is SURE it will work! I got my table back and within a few weeks I have more marks on my table! I’m telling you I took care of this table too. I called her up and she told me yet again to use the steel wool and what do you know took off some of my finish again!! She said she would reseal it again but will not refund me. At this point I was beyond frustrated bc who can keep sending their table back every few weeks to fix something that the seller couldn’t seem to get right? Everything she has told me was a lie. We did a dispute with the credit card company and the things she told them was absolutely ridiculous. They’re just trying to cover themselves and keep the money we spent on a FAULTY table. I then had a furniture repair guy out and he actually called her to find out what product was used. She told him she was still willing to fix the table for us so my husband and I decided to let the dispute go bc honestly she was exaggerating everything to benefit her. I have 3 young kids I don’t have time to continue fighting with someone that’s going to treat their costumers this way. However, when I go to reach out to schedule pickup to have my table fixed she would not respond then I go to message them on Facebook and she has me blocked...
Read moreTo say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. We ordered a custom table and chairs in July 2021. We added bar stools to the order in August. They build the table and order all chairs. We knew that the chairs were on back order which is not their fault. However, I did expect a phone call here and there to be updated on our order that we paid about 6k for. We finally got the order in November. We were given care instructions and knew not to use any chemicals. We really did not use it much except for my son’s birthday party (and it was covered with a table cloth). In December, we had our family Christmas. My grandma accidentally put a cup on the table without a coaster. It was picked up in less than 5 min. There was a ring and when I wiped it, the stain came up on the paper towel. Then I started noticing that anything that touched it immediately took stain off. I called and let them know. I called numerous times between January and April before it was finally taken at the end of the month. In all that time, I was told things like “next week” or “we are getting you on the schedule”. My husband was called one time in June and they wanted to bring it that same day, but no one would be home. I have been overly kind and patient with them over this. It was finally delivered today. After they left, I started inspecting more and found several issues as you can see in the pictures/video. The chairs were definitely redone because there are patches of stain missing and they’re now lighter than the table. And I may be wrong, but I feel that the bar stools were not even redone because they’re not light like the chairs. I also put water on my finger and rubbed a section and stain was on my finger. And I wiped the table with a damp paper towel and stain still came up.
So in over a year, we had the furniture less than 5 months. I basically had to beg to get things done. They are very friendly and the furniture is beautiful but there’s no point if the customer service is this bad. I was more than understanding throughout this headache. Now they are sending me some dye to try to fix it myself. I don’t have much faith that I’ll actually get it or that I’ll be able to make it look right. At this point, I’ll probably just have to pay someone to completely strip and restrain everything.
I would recommend going somewhere else which is a shame because it is beautiful and...
Read moreWhile the furniture is beautiful, I can’t recommend this business because of my experience. Communication is extremely lacking and delivery to New Orleans area is very unreliable. We purchased a dining table and bench in 2019. It looks wonderful and we love it. However, in Oct 2020 the bench completely fell apart while someone was sitting on it. I immediately contacted Abby through Facebook - she was very apologetic and offered to replace the bench. Great! We brought it in that weekend. 7 weeks went by and no word from anyone on when it would be ready, so I followed up on 12/5. I was told it would be finished the next week and delivered back to us. 12/13 - nothing, so I followed up again and was told it would be delivered that week. The weekend passed, and no bench. 12/23 - followed up again and was told it would come that same day. With no notice and it being the weekend of Christmas, we had plans to be out of town so we couldn’t be there to have it delivered. 1/15 - followed up again with no response. 1/21 - followed up again and was told it would come that weekend between 10-2. We cancelled our plans and stayed home that day only to receive a call at 2pm that the bench fell over in the delivery truck and the top had to be repaired. 1/30 - was told bench would be delivered between 9-10am. We were out of town, so we sent our in-laws to the house to wait for them. 10am passed and no bench so I called and was told they went to Baton Rouge first and would be there at noon. Sometime that afternoon, bench was FINALLY delivered. 15 weeks later. I understand that this is a small, family run company and I’ve tried to be understanding of that, but at some point there is no excuse for the the level of inattentiveness we experienced. I hope that they are able to address these problems and continue to grow their business; however, I won’t be purchasing anything else and would not recommend to...
