These chuckleheads showed up on my street this afternoon with no prior notice beyond a discussion with a Seattle City Light Arborist 6 months ago or so.
After the arborist was here, we had a very amicable discussion in which he told us that any branches within 10' of the power line would be trimmed back. In the case of our deodar cedar, that meant one (1) branch would be trimmed.
When I heard the guys outside I went to take a look - they were still working in the neighbors tree when I went outside.
The trimmer took the branch in question and I expected that to be it. He kept going cutting a bunch more branches going in up to 20' from the line. I tried to get his attention to get him to stop which he ignored as I was trying to flag him down.
A ground crew member eventually arrived and told me a series of apparently contradictory stories from what the arborist had told us.
Eventually the trimmer came down and told me I was hysterical because I was yelling while I'd been trying to get his attention and he kept pointing to his ear clearly motioning that he couldn't hear me.
This hack job was not what we'd been told to expect and I didn't appreciate being told I was hysterical when I merely trying to be heard over his apparently studious efforts to ignore me.
Someone else left a recent review about a rude crew. Perhaps we got stuck with...
Read moreAs a resident who's watched over 10 years of trimming I have never been so annoyed or appalled. The mess left behind of debris is just laziness. They have taken over 5 days so far on a road that takes other companies a single day! Today i watched an employee riding down the road in the boom bucket and almost hit an employee who ran in front of my car. Thankfully I was going 5mph because I'm cautious. They have done a terrible job trimming as 90%of the area done needs to be trimmed still around the power lines as they didn't do it and limbs are hanging over them in areas they already did. If I was the manager I would be highly disappointed in my workers and looking for a competent crew. I would go look at the job on Jordan rd and be angry! What should take a day (in 10 years it's never taken longer by any other company) they are still working on it and i believe it's been over a week total. I had to clean up my road after they left because they left branches and debris everywhere! I give 3 stars because I understand its the employees and specifically this crew not the whole company to blame. I would be doing a pop in if I was the man/woman in charge with no notice. This...
Read moreKemp West was trimming trees around our cable strike when our internet went out. We called CenturyLink and they were unconcerned with a single-house outage. They said the soonest they could come was "next week". (It's Friday morning now.)
I went and spoke with the crew, who said they'd call the office and see if they could get anyone moving. I went back in and called the office myself, and the crew lead had already conveyed my information and concerns. They said they'd call CenturyLink too, then called back to say they couldn't get them to commit to anything earlier than Monday. I expressed frustration as I work at home and can sometimes have client emergencies that require me to connect in off hours, but thanked them for trying.
Shortly afterwards I got a call back. Kemp West personally delivered a Verizon hot spot to use until the connection is repaired -- just handed it to me at the door, and I'm up and running and wanted to fully document the great customer service from a company that I'm not even the customer for. Truly impressed with the old school...
