Food Lion — Local services in Snow Hill

I usually go to this food lion every week for my groceries and it’s a great store with wonderful staff. However this morning I went to the food lion in snow hill (10/27/22) as my mom and me were walking by the meat section there was a Hispanic man asking an employee for directions to where the ham was. As my mom and me walked past them the Hispanic man asked us for help and we noticed the employee was being rude and disrespectful. After we told the Hispanic man where the ham was the employee started shouting curse words in both English and Spanish at the man, I then turned around and asked him what he had called the Hispanic man to make sure I wasn’t hearing wrong and it wasn’t a misunderstanding. He then proceeded to fuss my mom and me out while cursing. The manager heard him screaming at us and came, I explained to her what had happened and how both racist and disrespectful the employee was being towards my mom, the Hispanic man and me. She told the racist employee to follow her to the back but he kept on screaming and cursing and didn’t listen to her. This was a horrible experience! No customer should be treated this way, especially due to their race or speaking barrier. I hope to not see him there again after showing how...

They recently changed the layout of the grocery store. Can't find anything fast like you used to. I don't much care for the way they changed not only the layout, but they added multiple self checkouts. I don't know how everyone else feels about those self checkouts, but I absolutely despise them. Food Lion must be reminded that it is a privilege to have customers shop at their grocery stores, and i for one will not shop at a store and spend my money only to have to check my own self out at one of the self checkouts. Food Lion is going the way of Wal-Mart. I won't shop at Wal-Mart anymore because of self checkouts, and pretty soon, it looks like I won't shop at Food...

Usually some good specials, the customer service is either very good or just out right horrible. Don't bother calling customer service, everyone has excuses from the customer service rep to the regional managers. Don't expect anyone to call you back either, they call once and they let it ring once and hang up. The prices are not worth dealing with the employees. There are more choices in Snowhill and if they don't have what I need I would rather drive to another town then use the Food Lion in Snowhill they have lost my business and my families business as well.
