DO NOT BUY FROM UNLIMITED CYCLE IN TYRONE, PA. Bought a bike from Unlimited from Jude, the Salesman. Confirmed the purchase and put $2,000 down on my credit card - gave them the credit card number which they took. Sent a picture of my drivers license - front and back. Jude assured me the bike was mine. An hour later I get a text, not even a call, that "there might be an issue." Turns out someone else was coming in to look at it. I told Jude I gave my credit card number, $2,000 down, and was in the process of wiring the rest of the money as we discussed. It should be noted they would only take $2,000 on a credit card before charging a fee which is why the bank was wiring the rest. I asked to speak to the Sales Manager. His name is Joe. What a joke he is. He said someone was coming from 2 hours away to "look at it," and if they did not want it, then I could get it. I confirmed with him they did not put a deposit down on it, they were just coming to look at it for the first time. I informed him I already put $2,000 down on my credit card and they committed to sell it to me. Note the price was $8,500, so this represented nearly 25% of the purchase price, with the rest being wired as agreed to with Jude. The original price was $8,749 and we agreed on $8,500. So it is clear they were going to try to sell it from under me, after committing to the sale and taking my credit card information and license, to try to get more money. That is unethical at the very least. As such, Joe refused to honor the sale. I called Ron Bush, the President. After being on hold for half an hour, I hung up and had to call back. I finally reached Ron who first told me another customer put a deposit down. Not true. I informed him that both Jude and Joe told me they had in fact NOT put a deposit down, they were simply "coming to look at it." What Ron told me clearly was not true. I asked Ron to honor the agreement and the down payment, and he told me he does "not really run things, Joe does." I reminded him, HE IS THE PRESIDENT AND JOE WORKS FOR HIM. Ron then told me they sell thousands of bikes and "these things just happen." No Ron, these things don't "just happen" at respectable businesses. If you take someone's credit card (money), their license and agree to a deal, then you honor it. That is how a respectable business works. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!
I see “the owner” responds to these. Curious how they will fabricate a response to their own actions. By the way, it’s now five days later and the bike is still for sale. Bad move Joe and Ron, I guess trying to nickel and dime your customers and not standing by your commitments backfired. Lost a sale and gained a very bad review…
Joe, I received an automated response from you. I believe it came in on Easter Sunday, see below. If you really cared you would not send an automated response, you would call. You have my number, if you don’t, ask Jude. You not calling proves my point. An automated response is NOT customer service, it’s...
Read moreSo, I bought a 2013 Harley Electra Glide Classic.. Dealt with Ron, who told me he was a buyer, not a sales person but they were very busy.. Okay, all good.. He was VERY straight forward, which was a big plus for me, since I generally am not sales people friendly.. I was already financed, through my credit union so i knew what my budget was and I knew pretty much what i wanted.. We worked out everything on the phone, since A) their showroom is closed, and b) I live 100m miles from the Tyrone area. Got there, Ron looks over my bike I was trading in, thought the bike needed a cleaning, kind of nit-picked it a bit, which was fine.. But it is a 4 year old bike I just drove 100-miles through dust and bugs, it is not showroom perfect.. Going over the one I bought made the comment that he could have charged me much more, whatta deal I got, ect... He could have charged more, but I never would have known, since my search only went to 13,999 .. I would have missed the bike.. so.. He may have sold it, just not to me.. I would have ended up buying one that was close and had the basically the same mileage but up in NE Maryland.. I don't understand why remarks need to be made, instead of the deal just going down and being finalized.. In an otherwise deal that seemed to go smooth, the comments were not necessary.. I have been riding bikes for 30years.. I still do not get sales people.. BOTH are used bikes, the one I traded and the one I am buying.. Neither are perfect.. I didn't expect perfect, I didn't get perfect.. no biggie, the things I see wrong with what I bought I will fix to how i think they should be.. stuff that ain't right will be removed, new stuff will be put on.. It is all good.. So i give them 3.5 stars which rounds up to 4..
Bike ran well all the way back home, I think the deal was fair, they got a bike they will sell for 2500-3k more than they gave me for it, I got a bike that was in the range for the year for what I was looking for, knowing it ain't perfect, but I can make it perfect for me.
What really sold me on the bike was the sweet front rim/wheel, and the handlebars.. otherwise it was just another 2013 HD Electra Glide.. Which are pretty much a dime a dozen on the used bike market.. they range from 10.900 to 14.900 from everything I saw..
In the end I think Unlimited is a fair dealer to deal with.. and I was ultimately pleased with the deal I...
Read moreI have been wanting to come visit your shop for several years, and today we decided to take a little road trip and make it happen. I was so excited! We buy LOTS of toys (street bikes, dirt bikes, quads, etc) from local dealers but wanted to see what your shop had to offer; I have spent many hours exploring your website over the past few years. Upon entering your store, I was not disappointed. So many beautiful machines! While we were pondering the purchase of one of your bikes we happened to bump into one of your parts or service associates- he was kind and helpful, an asset to your company. We then decided to look at the Spyders before inquiring about the motorcycle we were interested in. I have wanted a Spyder for many years and am ready to make the purchase. Leaving these machines we headed towards the sale desk. Before we could reach the counter the salesman raised his voice and addressed us, "Sorry guys we're closing up, time to go". My husband indicated we would be interested in purchasing a bike, I said it didn't seem like that was an option....the associate told me he "didn't appreciate my attitude". Are you kidding me?? He then proceeded to inform us that he had a family to get home to and we should come back another time. I hope he's not trying to feed them off his commission. I didn't expect him to stay open late to accommodate us but there is certainly a better way of going about it. AND, I have bought many many machines after business hours- it's not that unusual. This young man continued to make many snide and disrespectful remarks to me regarding how much he works and how valuable his time is. I work, in a customer driven industry- and this is not the way to do it. He didn't appreciate my attitude and I will tell you what else he's not going to have a chance to appreciate- my business. Not only would we have come back to buy the Harley, but like I said, we buy lots of toys. You have lost a potential life time customer. We will skip the 4hr round trip drive and stay closer to home where customers are appreciated and treated as more than a nuisance.
I did try to post this on their web page but it kept saying there...
