Visited the place over the weekend with family. Overall nice place to have fun, however my experience was soured by the incident that happened with one of the employees. There was a bunch of teenagers, they were by themselves who were also using the lower slopes. The problem was that they were using a single tube and just piling on top of it and sliding down the slope. So the lower slope which is specifically for little kids had these teenagers hurtling down and being a danger to them. One time I saw them fall off from the tube and one of the girl hurt her hand. This however did not stop them. There was a young lady (employee) with orange glasses guiding people on the magic carpet. It seemed that she knew these teenagers as I overheard them chatting.
The problem happened when I went down the slope with my 3 year old son. We reached the bottom and came to a stop. Thats when I realized to my horror that the teenagers were coming down the slope, all 5 of them on a single tube with me and my son in the way. Before I had time to react, they had knocked my son who was still on his tube. He was knocked out of the way around 2-3 feet. I immediately rushed to him and luckily he wasn't hurt. But he was in shock and crying. I overheard one of the teenager apologizing to me, but I was too busy checking my son. I was really angry and told them, that this is not done and they need to be careful with small kids around.
I told the young lady at the magic carpet what had happened. Her immediate reaction: "You should have moved out of the way". I was taken aback. I told her that my son is 3 year old and we did not have any time to get out of the way. You should not allow these kids to tube down like that since it is a safety hazard. Her reply was "We cannot do that, they have as much of a right to do tubing any way they wish." I was definitely not expecting this response. Maybe she was protecting her friends. But her demeanor almost seemed like she was accusing me of wrongdoing.
I realized that I was wasting my time talking to her. Since we still had some more time left, decided to just let it go enjoy the rest of it with my family.
I can see that the owner is active and replying to other reviews. Hopefully, he/she can read my experience and take appropriate action. I probably wont be returning to the...
Read moreIf you want an enjoyable visit, don't come over the Christmas break. We came on December 31st and this place was so crowded it felt more like an amusement park with a 20 minute wait in line for a 15 second ride (really, we stood in line for 20 minutes, for a 15 second slide down the big hill). We bought the whole day pass (three of us), but left after only an hour, disgruntled, when we only managed to get in two slides. We arrived here today thinking this would be like a standard ski/snowboard slope, except with inner-tubes, wherein we would be able take lifts to the top of a hill and then tube down on our own accord. We did not expect to have to queue up in line and wait to be pushed over the edge---this was NOT a fun experience. Based on the responses from the owners, here on Google, I am certain they are trying to run a good business, so I would like to offer some constructive criticism: You need to figure out a way to handle large influxes of customers, like there was today, to minimize the wait times. Perhaps have additional runs that you can open and close as the volume demands.
You need three or four people up top (big run) to process the line. Your runs remained empty much of the time, because the nearest operator was calling to the people in line to come forward, guiding/pointing many to the run they were supposed to go to and then walking back to those who were sitting and waiting to be pushed over the edge. I watched as my son sat patiently for over 30 seconds before being sent on his way. 30 seconds may not sound like much, but on a 15 second ride, that's extremely poor efficiency.
Your area is too small. Like any resort/lodge/slope where people are coming to play in the snow, whether on skis, snowboards, or tubes/sleds, there needs to be plenty of area for them to do the activity. Heck, in Switzerland they have entire mountain runs dedicated for sledding called schlitterbahn.
There should be a open area/hill that's nice and wide and fairly shallow slope (to limit speed) that has a self serve lift so people can take a lift up on and then sled down on their own, instead of this standing in line business.
Anyway, this is intended to be constructive criticism to shed some light on where you can improve your...
Read moreWe were looking for fun places to keep my 3 year old son engaged during December holiday season. My wife heard about this place in Instagram. Being first timers to Snow tubing, we were not sure, but as it didn't need any skill/practice, we wanted to give it a try as it sounded fun. So we came here last Friday. Oh boy, it was super fun not just for my son, but my wife and I also enjoyed it thoroughly. Weather was perfect without being too sunny. My son was = 44 inches and $31 for others (
