Strawberry General Store — Local services in Sonora

The store has been sold again and it looks the best it ever has! The couple that took it over are wonderful and so welcoming. They added areas inside to sit by the fire and lots of tables outside to enjoy the free wifi.

We were very happy with all of the new food items they have added. And they are now carrying items like shirts, hats, stickers and signs that say Strawberry.

They'll be having live music on their 100th day and each time we went in, there were quite a few people shopping.

What a great improvement!

We'll be coming in and spending our money there happily on all of our future trips to the area!

This store on the outside looked so cute. But it was a complete scam. I bought a sparkling water, tums, and yogurt raisins. After taking these to the cashier, an elderly man, he charged me $50. Exactly. How could that have come out to $50 exactly?? I think the cashier literally just typed in $50 without ringing me up and made me pay it. I tried to ask him and he was completely unresponsive. There were people behind me so I had no choice but to pay it. I can't believe how illegal it was. And being the only main store in Strawberry, I guess they can get away with that. I will never...

This is such a great spot! Just the absolute best people ☺️ And they have a good frozen pizza, Tillamook ice cream, Ruby Jewel ice creams, Snickers ice cream bars, and those flavored chocolate milks in the glass bottles. All the refreshing things I wanted after hiking! Those frozen cheese filled pretzel things were delicious too. And it makes me happy to put my dollars towards people who genuinely care about everyone who comes through, thru-hikers and backpackers and regulars alike.
