Elite Indoor Gun Range — Local services in South Kingstown

This place is just awesome! Amazing and friendly staff who have helped me out with cleaning my gun and teaching how to shoot my first handgun. Prices are ok for the current time when it comes to guns and ammo. In my opinion their memberships are a little pricey when compared to Midstate in Coventry for example. Anyways I would say it is definitely worth the "long" drive.

I do want to mention an incident I had with another shooter who was there (now this has nothing to do with their staff so please keep this in mind). I was going to adjust the choke on my 12g (its adjustable so you turn it to choose what mode you want to shoot, kind of like a garden hose nozzle) when this man forcefully grabbed my gun while I was still holding it to point it more downrange. Now if he had a problem he could've just kindly asked me to change what I was doing and I wouldn't have cared, but this experience did leave a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. So to clarify what I was doing, like I said I was adjusting the choke and I did have the barrel close to my face so I could read what mode it was on (I am legally blind so I need to have "words" close to my face so I can read them). The gun was unloaded, safety on and ejector door open. Now I know what I was doing could be considered a safety hazard but again I just wish this person went about this situation in a less aggressive manner.

Again don't let my rant deter you from going here, this place is great and this incident was with another customer not any...

I made a mistake as a new shooter at the range today and was completely scolded by the little blonde girl. I don't know her name but after apologizing for my common mistake I continued to be scolded for my mistake. Now please don't get me wrong I think that even a simple mistake could end up being costly in the worst of ways however I couldn't have been more sorry for what I knew was a mistake. But I was grossly dehumanizing for it! Needless to say I am finished with Elite gun range due to this incident. I'm sure that there are other close by places that don't have such power trippy little girls looking to make themselves feel powerful. I know what I did and I know it was not in line with all the safety measures that should well be implemented. However, I'm not about to be made to feel bad about myself which I know was this little blonde girls directive. No Elite will not close down as a result of my permanent departure from them however I hope that they would take into consideration my take on this and what it's cost! You have lost a patron! I have learned from my mistake but will now take my business elsewhere! Too bad...I enjoyed my time there but I am not about to be scolded by a little blonde power trippy employee. Not now, not Ever! .

I can’t say enough about Elite. The employees are friendly and very helpful especially Sydney. I bought my 1st gun from out of state and she helped me get it transferred over to me here in this state. Then I took a private lesson with her and she helped me so much getting used to my new gun. I went in not hitting the targets where I was aiming and by the end of my lesson I was right on target. She was patient and showed me so many techniques to help me make better shots. Thanks for all your help Sydney.

And for the guy that kept calling her the little blonde girl, she has a name and knowledge is power. She has a lot of knowledge when it comes to the range and safety. Keep up the good...
