I knew there was no better place for my son to learn, grow, and become a man in his own right based upon the recommendations of an SLTC alum who is a very successful lineworker.
From start to finish, the experience with SLTC staff and instructors was positive, seamless, helpful and supportive. Housing was an exceptional experience and we will always be in touch with the landlords. They loved my boy and took great care of him while I was (many) states away. Bringing food to the boys and sending me pictures! ❤ That didn't have to be done, but it speaks volumes about the kind of special place Trenton, GA is.
Graduation has come and gone (what a show!) As I write, my son is at an interview with NEAT this morning. He is prepared and confident thanks to SLTC.
As a career professional in higher ed (housing, student conduct, academic affairs), I can tell you from my experiences that SLTC is a well-organized machine. Check-in day was powerful! Smooth. Easy. It only re-confirmed we had made the best choice. ROI (return on investment) for 3.5 months of missing my son is HUGE, and will be for you, too.
Stakes are high in today's world; giving your child wings to fly and to choose a career and lifestyle in service to others and the greater good is priceless. Was it easy? No. Should it be? No. Things worth having are not easy, but they are, undoubtedly, worth it in the end.
Highly recommend SLTC, and always will. High fives to them, and happy climbing to all for...
Read moreMy son who is 18 just graduated from SLTC and was in Class 66. A year ago we were deciding what was next after he would graduate from high school. After a tour and deep family discussion he made the decision to go to SLTC. My wife was a little reluctant because he would be about 6hrs from home. But after the tour we were all sold. After returning from the tour we went all in and started the registration process when we got back home.
It was stated at graduation that pride was taken into knowing the process was as seamless as possible. And it was, from the tour through Registration and ending with graduation.
SLTC puts out a product that is the best in the industry. That product is the graduates that traverse the stage at the end of Week 15. Make no mistake, it is not a cake walk but they do everything in their means to make sure that they are successful if they want to be.
I highly encourage this program for any aspiring Lineman. Although not necessary, I would recommend venturing into it with a buddy as my son did.

Read moreMy husband just graduated from this school and let me tell youuuu, they have taken our money with the CDL test. They failed him for missing one thing several times different occasions and instead of teaching it they sent him on his way saying good luck. The school spent a total of 2 days with 40 students per truck and called it a day on teaching CDLs to the students then expect them to know it all to pass it. They try to rush everything they teach so they can add more “certifications” and can get more money and have more people come when in reality you don’t really learn anything because they added too much to their plate. We moved our entire lives for him to go to this school and not even get what he paid for, just to keep coming back (after the school is finished) to pay and retake a driving test (that they don’t teach you) and guess what Alabama makes you retake the CDL because they only take manual cdls not automatic that you paid for at the school. Needless to say we are pretty upset to keep spending...
