We stopped here hoping to find anything healthy after a long flight and 24 hours without food. We were hungry and cranky and asked far too many questions in rapid fire. Minerva had the patience of a saint and followed up every answer with, “we can do that if you want it changed.” After considering every item on the menu we split a ham & salami Italian sandwich and each had a bowl of NE clam chowder. Like you, I’ve had each of these more times than I can count. This were different. As different as an order can be. The bread was fresh in the Italian, the ham & salami were stacked the way we love it. The vegg was fresh and crunchy and the highest quality. Even the olives were genuine Italian olives and tucked into the bottom so they didn’t slide off the stack of contents. It was delightful. And the soup! I love soup, all soup! But I cook and make my own stock so I’m a soup snob. This had a flavorful broth (the most important indicator of good soup.) it was loaded with clams and chucky bites of potato clearly made by hand. What a wonderful surprise to be hungrier than normal and get a lucious soup and meaty sandwich just when I needed it! I’m so happy.
If you are lucky enough to pass nearby I highly recommend stopping for a bite. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and...
Read moreRecently drove past and saw the sign that says Giant lobster rolls, so we went in to check it out!!! My BF was very impressed with his lobster roll and said it was out of this world. I was disappointed with that but the turkey was huge and fresh!!! Knowing that I'll order without mayo next time bc we will...
Read moreI found Ocean House by chance. I was driving up to Acadia from NH and saw the chalk sign advertising lobster rolls and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did because it turned out to be one of the 5 best things I've ever eaten. It was fantastic, it was incredible, it blew my mind. Made with a generous helping of fresh picked lobster tossed in mayo with some cracked black pepper and a dabbling of lettuce to add some texture. It was the stuff dreams are made of. If I stayed in Portland for a week, I'd eat here...
