Of course, lessons with Andrew, the Head Pro, are a great way to improve one's game. His expertise and guidance are invaluable and definitely better results than watching YouTube pros who can’t analyze your swing like he can.

The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Joe and Jay, the starters, are always welcoming and ensure a smooth start to any round. They keep things running like a clock even at peak times.

Graham, the groundskeeper, and his dedicated crew also deserve thanks. Their hard work over the seasons is evident in the condition of the course, from the greens to the fairways, making every round a pleasure. The unsung heroes.

South Riding Golf Club is a great place, whether you're looking to improve your game with professional instruction or simply enjoy a round on a well-maintained and challenging course.

Oh yeah and they really enjoy being part of the community, from hiring local kids to hosting the annual Fireworks spectacular.

South Riding Golf Course is a true gem and a fantastic experience for any golfer. The course is consistently in great condition, which really enhances the playing experience. From the tees to the greens, everything is meticulously maintained, allowing for true rolls on the putts and consistent lies on the fairways.

However, be warned: the course presents a significant challenge, especially concerning the rough. This isn't your typical light fringe; the rough here is a formidable adversary. Even a perfectly struck drive that just trickles a few inches off the fairway can lead to a frustrating search party. The grass is incredibly thick, dense, and coarse, standing at a height of about 2 to 3 inches. If your ball finds its way into this verdant beast, be prepared for a difficult extraction and quite possibly a lost ball if you're not meticulous in your search. It truly demands accuracy off the tee and rewards those who can keep their shots in the short grass.

Overall, South Riding Golf Course offers a beautiful and well-kept setting for a round of golf, but its challenging rough adds a strategic element that keeps you on your toes and makes for a memorable, albeit sometimes frustrating, day...

Played here last weekend with a friend of mine, we showed up last second after having just missed a booking time; the pro shop and starter were kind enough to sneak us in between two foursomes despite our tardiness and lack of tee time, greatly appreciated and they managed to do so without slowing anyone’s pace of play. On top of that the shop guy (Carter) was nice enough to give us a bucket to hit while we waited to play. Lost one of our 2 cigars on a bump somewhere, when I came in at the turn to grab another, Carter instead gave us a free one when he heard! * On the golf side of things: they’ve dramatically improved the course and upkeep from a few years ago. The greens are actually quite challenging! Would have loved to see a cart girl/person at some point during a summer Saturday 18.. clubhouse is actually nice enough (TVs in and outdoor / plenty of seating) to hang out for a couple hours after if you don’t value your marriage ;) glizzys on the turn always deliver. And again I just want to compliment the staff across the board for making it an incredibly relaxing and accommodating venue, happy to call this my home course!!!...
