It is almost impossible for me to convey how much working with Rachel has changed my life. I had spent tens of thousands of dollars with all kinds of providers to recover from a car accident before coming to her and she was the first person to treat my body as a whole. I experienced less pain almost immediately after our first session without her doing any manual therapy because she taught me how to live in my body. She helped me understand the connections between my brain and my physical pain and gave me the most thoughtful recommendations based on my daily life and my goals.
When I first came to see her I was scared of long hours of working and traveling because it triggered so much of my pain. Since seeing her, I have been on more than 5 international trips that were 30+ hours (and some were over 15 hour long flights). I have graduated and been able to work full time again and even go on business trips.
I cannot stress enough how unique her approach is. Not only do you get undivided attention your whole session, she also asks you thoughtful questions and makes smart sharp observations that helped learn so much about what my body needs and what it is asking for. She has looked at how I sleep and how I work and how I go on about my day which has completely changed my levels of chronic panic and the way I react to pain. She even sends you long recaps (if you want them) after every session explaining exactly what she recommends and what she has observed.
If you are scared of movement after an injury or experiencing pain, if you are struggling with the mental loop of chronic pain or just want to spend some more time getting to know how your body works and how you can optimize your movements and your relationship with your body, I guarantee you that you will learn incredible things from her. She will take the time to get to know you, will show you respect and understanding and will help build trust...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a car accident that left me with back and neck pain and chronic migraines; needing Imitrex 2-3 times times a week. I had tried multiple other treatments including chiropractic, trigger point release massage, acupuncture, and dry needling. These helped temporarily, but never provided long-term relief. Rachel helped me see how I had developed poor movements and habits that kept my body in positions that triggered my pain and headaches. As an occupational therapist who works in Neuro Rehab, I am familiar with movement and positioning, and would have thought I knew better. However, I realized itās difficult to assess your own body and objectively see how youāre moving.
Rachel has helped me in every area of my daily life: tasks like grocery shopping, playing with my children, working with patients, and jogging and biking. Sheās helped me to grow stronger in needed areas, to understand how I move and use my body, and has taught me the correct way to go about functional tasks. I have finished treatment with awesome results, and now see her for movement classes, such as Oov, to continue to learn and stay balanced.
I canāt say enough good things about Rachel - she is truly dedicated to helping people. I am surrounded by therapists in my line of work, and am always amazed by how knowledgeable and skillful Rachel is. She has so much expertise in so many areas, and is truly proficient in movement therapy. She can assess the real problems, and help you make changes to alleviate them.
The cost may initially put you off. You may lean towards treatment with a PT through insurance, pay your co-pay, likely go for many visits, and receive cookie cutter therapy. However, if you really want to get to the bottom of the problem and want life-time results, you should see Rachel⦠the investment...

The owner/operator Rachel is sensitive, patient and at the cutting edge of physical therapy techniques and technologies. I have a history of back pain and in 2015 required back surgery at only 27 years old. For six months I wallowed in depression. Another 6 were spent searching for answers in traditional PT, stretching and random exercise, but these only exacerbated my struggles. With my back against the wall I felt I was losing who I was as a person to the dull, persistent, lobotomy of pain.
It has not been easy, Rachel makes you work hard and push yourself (would we want anything else from a trainer?), but less than a year working with Rachel and I am feeling like my life is back in my hands!!! I am no longer a victim of my pain or genetics. Instead Rachel has built strategies for ME, not a size M, 29 yr old male or what-have-you but she's tailored each exercise, progression and practice to work for my body and my level of fitness. I am now as active as I have been since surgery and making progress daily!
Her monthly letter is insightful and practical, her advice specific and functionary and her company is the best kind of human warmth.
I can not recommend Movement Sense...
