After eating the best food of my life from their food trailer, The Butcher's Chuck Wagon, I wanted to go check out their butcher shop. It was so much more than I expected! We live an hour away and went two days in a row! They had an outstanding collection of meats, sauces, prepared foods, smoked meats, seafood, and gourmet foods. The smoked meats are better than anywhere else I've tried. And where else in Alabama can this Cajun-raised girl get boudin, crawfish pies, alligator and tasso from world-famous Poche's in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana? And a rare sighting--Fat & Weird Cookies! We went for the first time this past weekend, & they had so many options of meat to choose from. We got two NY strip steaks, Applewood smoked sausage, three cheese smoked sausage, & some smoked tuna dip. The steaks had really good flavor, the Applewood smoked sausage is by far the best sausage I have ever eaten, didn't care too much about the three cheese or the smoked tuna dip, but I think it's because I'm used to Panama cities smoked tuna. Amazing selection of quality meats and seafood! Bought many steaks and pork chops from here to grill at home. The quality of the steaks are the best in the area, definitely better than Publix. Good selection of seafood from different fish, shrimp, scallops, oysters,and more. All fresh and very nice. Maybe best of all, The Butcher carries Bill E's bacon from Fairhope, Alabama.
