General RV Center — Local services in South Weber

Well this is a first. ART, the salesman… We drive in from Wyoming, been on the hunt for a class A. Maybe a different Class C. Wanting to go to diesel. There is a fence around entire lot. We pull up and no salesman comes out. Husband goes in and salesman tells him we have to access through the building to see them. He comes and gets me. We make introductions and he takes us to his cubicle. We are confused. I asked “aren’t we going to see motorhome?” He says “yes, but I want to get more information!” He says, I’m thinking a ring of keys a list or something. We get to his cubicle and are standing waiting. He sits down. Keeps telling us to sit down.” Sit down”. Wants to get more information on a paper he gets out. “just sit down” maybe we don’t want to sit after driving from Wyoming. He asks us what length? We don’t know exactly, what class? A or C, either, unsure. I again ask can’t we go look, he basically is telling us to tell him what we want so he can dial it down. Then he asks about budget. I said we didn’t have a budget. He rudely says “so you can buy a $500k coach?” I said yes. Apparently pulling up in a brand new $110k Lincoln Navigator and walking in with both of us wearing jeans, shirts and ballcaps says that we have can’t afford a high end motorhome. I guess he can’t spot Louis Vuitton sunglasses when he sees them. He then asks if we have a motorhome (yes) and what kind. Did we owe. Husband says yes, and he asks how much. So we actually didn’t owe, but we both were getting frustrated. I said it didn’t matter what we owed. At that point he says, “I think we got off on the wrong foot.” I say, yes, “I think we did”. All we wanted to do is look at models, we had an idea of a few we have been looking at Tiffin, Newmar, phateon, etc., but when making this large of a purchase we wanted to make sure we have covered every option, floor plan, setup, material, chassis, etc. He then says, “Because YOU, are being rude!” “ME!?!” I said. We stand up, and like that it’, leaving. I’m rude because I ask a couple simple questions,? 1, are we going out to look at motorhomes, 2, I thought we were Going to look at motorhomes. We weren’t falling into his sit down, shut up, answer my questions, and I will decide what’s best for you narrative.

I counted 20 motorhomes along the fence we wanted to look at as we drove off. I called to speak to manager, and he called right back. Apologized and said it looks like more training is in order. Bottom line, don’t shop there if you have money or don’t have money. Because we got judged the minute we walked in and this salesman had no idea who we were from Adam. I will be sure to send a picture of our new motorhome and the awesome dealer it came from to ART THE salesman, and General Manager. I wonder how long they can lost 1/2 million sales because...

Where do I start. We had paid a deposit and needed to reschedule our appointment to finalize everything. We were criticized and treated like an employee. That the rep had some personal something and we had to keep "his" appointment or they were going to give the unit to someone else. The unit they had talked so highly of is where the 1 star comes from. They wanted us to finalize all the payment and paperwork before showing us the trailer. When we pulled up to get it connected it wouldn't work and a fork lift was brought out to set the hitch. Some of the tail lights weren't working and there were stray wires hanging from underneath the trailer. We were reassured all was well. We drove away 3 hours and during which we lost the panel protecting the hot water heater. It was at this point we started finding the flies TONS AND TONS OF DEAD FLIES! They were crammed into every nook and crevice a fly could fly into. Thousands of them. We filled 3" of a shop vac sucking up dead flies. It was horrifying. Then come to find out the mattress was not a trailer mattress but had been replaced with a standard residential type. I'm convinced they sold us a trailer someone DIED in. The AC didn't work and we can't plug in to any shore power that is GFCI protected or it trips immediately. Turning on the heater still reeks of burning flies. What a breath of fresh air to know that there are business like this who think of the customer first and the bottom line ………..don’t know that because it seamed to be the farthest from their minds. I live 5 miles of two other RV service centers, I stopped at both to ask them about installing an equalizer brand hitch. One RV place said to just drop off the trailer as they don’t do appointments, and they would get to it……. Really??? without matching it to my truck?? The other company said I could do it easily myself. I gave General a shot. I was told to walk up and talk to Saha Fuger…….OMG with kindness and professionalism, Sara understood exactly what I needed and had knowledge on what the job required and gave a pre price which I understood could change. My family went out to their lot and looked at trailers alone and felt they could take time to look without being escorted buy some pushy salesperson. The day came to get the installation Top Notch Mechanic Justin came out and let me know what needed done. After the completion of the install, he offered a courtesy walkaround inspection. ARE you kidding me Free? You mean the same inspection that the other RV centers offer for $300 plus? Yes they do it for free. I asked Justin if he could just look at my roof and step mechanism as I am a good wrench turner myself and those were my two concerns.
