One of my favorite places to spend a Saturday morning. This free outdoor market has a rotating mixture of vendors so, if you see something you like, you'd better snatch it up. You won't see many things marked with a price and most vendors are up for haggling if that's your thing.
Clean port-a-potties, some food sellers (pork chops and kettle corn are regulars), in late April/May you'll see some garden plants for sale, in June/July/August you'll start seeing Farmer's Market type vendors with vegetables and flower bouquets, autumn brings mums and pumpkins. You'll always find something rusty or dusty. Something vintage that's way overpriced and something that's a steal of a deal (or even free).
Jewelry, furniture, clothes, comic books, 3D printed items, freeze dried candy, glassware, brass, plant pots, homemade bread, art, DVDs, records, toys, fishing lures, puppies. You never know what you'll find.
While they advertise being open April-October from sunrise until 1, I personally go as soon as the snow melts until Labor Day from about 7 a.m.-11 a.m. as that seems to be when the most vendors are there. Holiday weekends are CRAZY so plan for a lot of patience and pull through the parking spot! The parking lot rows are barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass each other and harrowing to back out of when the rows are clogged with cars and people.
I'd say don't bother going if it's raining - there are few vendors and fewer shoppers and the area gets muddy.
Also, wear your hiking shoes - all of the paths and parking lot are dirt and grass. Bring your own wagon, basket, or bag and leave your dog at home in the air conditioning. Dogs are not allowed.
If you have something to sell, you can rent a space for a small fee. Which is a great solution if you live too far out of the way for a garage sale.
You could easily spend 1-3 hours there depending on how many vendors came that week. I...
Read moreThere is so much to see out there and Labor Day weekend has the most vendors. Although vendors can change daily, you'll find quite the variety of items from any type of collections old and new, to handmade/artisan work to homemade salsa, sauces, breads, pies, jams, etc. and "corporate" type of vendors, such as Norwex & Tastefully Simple. There were even a could of groups with puppies! You can also enjoy the restaurant in the center with a variety of food offerings or one of the vendors serving up corn dogs, foot long hot dogs, onion rings and more. Parking and entry is free and plenty of porta-potty locations! Most vendors take cash, especially since the Internet service out there is terrible. There are some who take cards, Venmo and PayPal and there are ATMs on site. My favorite booth? Vesta's booth of all handmade from scratch, gorgeous wrapped jewelry! No two pieces are alike and she does custom orders! She also makes leather purses and wallets from scratch and does many other things that aren't currently at the Meet, but you can find her on FB, Etsy and Square under VK...
