Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Southwick

OSJL in Southwick, Mass (5 miles from Granby, Connecticut center) is my favorite place to shop for good things at incredibly low prices. At least 5 staff members have been working there for as long or longer than I have lived in Granby-20 years this past June. They are always helpful at finding items; not only telling you where to go, but they bring you there. Mostly I shop for the same items. For example, since I have toy dogs which are not always easy to house train, I purchase wee wee pads about every 5-6 weeks. At my pet store, they cost up to $50 for 40 small pads. OSJL has extra large packs of 40 for $19.99! Last weekend those same pads were slashed down to $9.99! That's the kind of stuff that blows my mind. The store can always be counted on for having certain products in stock. Additionally, each season they have exactly what you need. Think planting items in the spring, sunblock and swimsuits in the summer, back to school items in the fall and everything that screams HAPPY HOLIDAYS in the winter. I could go on and on. I have been to a few OSJL's in CT and this one on College Highway in Southwick, Mass is by far the best from the friendly staff to the neatness of the store to the wide variety of inexpensive items. The one item I personally don't ever purchase is the makeup. It's usually old, discontinued or very poor quality. Otherwise, shop your heart out because there is something there for everyone. Last but not least, remember it's not like shopping at a high end store, so check your items and you can return anything within 30 days with a receipt for what you paid. I want to give a "Shout Out" for whoever the new manager is who completely cleaned up this store! I hadn't been in the store for awhile and never felt like my experiences there were very pleasant and the store felt congested and messy. Last week I shopped and was blown away by how impeccable the store was! All departments were neat and aisles felt spacious. It was a pleasurable shopping experience to be in this store! The difference was so noticeable. This store now gets an A+ for neatness, appearance, presentation, cleanliness and spacious walk through! I feel the employees have always been cheerful and helpful, so no complaints there. Kudos to Southwick for raising the bar and creating a standard that the Westfield store could certainly model...

Ocean State in Southwick MA is outstanding. We all know that when we visit any one the numerous discount retailers we expect no service and total disarray (that would be Dollar General in Vernon, CT). However, I have been a frequent shopper at Ocean State Job Lot in Southwick MA. They always have all the items available that they publish in their circular.
