The La Salles are one of the most beautiful mountain ranges from a distance and from the top. When you get halfway up, the contrast of mountains to the edge of the desert overlooking the valley is astonishing. I even found Scottish thistle growing and I've never seen that outside the Highlands of Scotland. This is a must see. Don't camp or stay in Moab if you don't like a mess of people. The deer and cows were near the road and just looked at us as we passed by. We even rolled our windows down and "talked" to them. They seemed so serene and peaceful. It's how animals should be; happy. It was a beautiful experience....
