We drove 6 hours 30 minutes each way just to come here. More than worth it, if you're considering it- just go, you will NOT regret it! You will have amazing memories to last a lifetime. A once-in-a-lifetime experience for ALL ages. We came here as two adults, but the tour guides were amazing with the children who were in our group as well and made sure the experience was great for them. This is super educational as well as FUN! The tour guides are seriously fabulous, give great information about the animals and make sure everyone (the animals and people) is safe and comfortable.
Don't worry, no animals are forced to do anything they don't want to do, it's all on their terms. The enclosures are well kept and it's nice to see the animals with their toys and yummy treats! The priority is definitely the health and wellbeing of the animals. It's obvious the people who own this place are truly great people. We met the husband of this great family team and he's a very kind person, very passionate and obviously adores the animals, you can tell all the animals are part of one big extended family. Everyone is super fun to talk to, and the animals are super fun to interact with. It's truly an experience that will fill you with wonder and awe. You can clearly see how much they all respect their animals.
Make a trip to see the awesome animals and awesome people. I wish Nomad's Animal Encounter nothing but success, I can't wait to watch them continue to expand and grow. I feel places like this are important as hands-on interaction and feeling a personal connection to animals help inspire people to conserve their wild friends. We 100% want to go back already! :) If you visit and you are able, please consider donating! Non-pork meat, produce, blankets, baby toys, building materials, it all goes to these...
Read moreMy husband surprised me with a day date to Nomad’s and I don’t know if I can put into words how amazing it was. Bethany was so kind and knowledgeable. It was like spending the afternoon with someone you’ve known for years. The animals are all well loved and cared for. Their number one priority is the health and happiness of the animals. This is a very interactive encounter, in one after noon, I Fed a water buffalo, got a friendly swarm of affection from a deer, antelope, llama, sheep, goats and calves. Learned what the fox says, and that the males are very chivalrous. Got llama kisses. Held a bobcat. Had an amazing experience with Skadi, the wolf. Played in a pigpen. Let a skunk take a nap on me. Had a lemur fix my hair. Held a baby coatimundi and a cat at the same time. And booped the belly of a baby serval. I’m sure I left out about 5 things. If you have the chance to go, do it. It’s worth taking a day off work and going during the week. I promise you will not be...
Read moreHands down one of the best family experiences we have ever had! When a friend told me about Nomad’s and how much fun it was for the family I was excited to try it out, but had no idea what we were in for. This place is awesome! The animals that you visit here are all a part of one big family. The family that owns and operates the facility have rescued most of the animals and gave them a home here and keep them close and dear to their hearts. Not one animal is forced to interact with anyone, you have a sense while being there these animals are socialized lovingly by their human parents. If you want to get close to an animal that you’d only see in the wild then this is the place. My kids loved it! Do yourself a favor and experience this as...
