Town & Country Supermarket — Local services in Sparta

It's not what small-town grocery stores used to be, but it does feel that way walking in, and it's convenient in a pinch. However, that convenience is reflected in the prices - brand name prices on generic brand products - so expect to shell out some $$$ for brand names. I've never gone inside and found the store dirty. Shelves are usually stocked and tidy. The staff are courteous enough. No one's ever been plain rude, but c'mon, we all have off days. I personally prefer the more relaxed, natural interactions. If you're looking to be pampered and catered to, best keep driving. I gave three stars because, let's be real, it's not a five-star establishment. The high prices and limited selection make it impossible to be my everyday shopping choice, so I couldn't do four stars either. Three stars... Somewhere in the middle. That seems about...

Prices are higher compared to the Dollar General in town. I wouldn't mind if the products were actually fresh. Purchased tortillas one time that were moldy in-between. The vegetables/fruits in cold section are sad and squishy. Tried to buy some wasabi sauce and all of them expired a month ago. It's a clean store but manager seems not a people person. Ask him about some things and doesn't get back to u when he says he will. More than one occasion.
