J.L. Belue Farms Natural Market was around during my childhood stomping ground days. Riding a bicycle along Parris Bridge Road past Porter's Quik Shop just off the beaten path in the bedroom community I grew up in, I'd wander to Belue's to buy just about anything in those days. An ice cold Dr. Pepper or a juicy peach on a hot summer afternoon meant the world to me back then. However, Belue's was around long before then. In the late 1970s and into the 1980s, I was there when all sorts of local youngsters would work in the warehouse - many being their first job packing peaches. They've come such a long way in such a good way. Their store and property has become very innovative over the years. The employees, vendors, and farmers all work so hard and apply themselves while going the extra mile - just like their local customers travel and many others far and wide to visit frequently. Everyone is friendly, helpful and they all make it a pleasant atmosphere when I make a pit stop. The store is always flawlessly impeccable inside and out every time I visit. I hope they're around long after I'm gone and they continue to grow - just like their customers. Jim employed hundreds and was known for being a matchmaker throughout the years (some even married and raised families of their own.) Jim also loved the Lord, his family, his prized Black Angus cows and of...
Read moreI really like that this place sells organic and healthy food.
(*Edited to 4 stars, instead of 3, and to add:) The manager called and they offered to give the sale prices if I brought my receipt in. They also assured me that the staff had been updated on how the sales work. I have not made it over there yet because of busy schedule with kids, and finding an old receipt is time-consuming, but at least they're trying to improve their service and practices.
(Previous Review Below:)
I'm not sure if it's because the employees aren't trained very well or if the manager doesn't remind them, but whenever there's a sale on candy or chocolate, or whatever the sale is, it seems like they conveniently forget.
Last time I reminded them, the lady ringing us up got really upset. Well, the girl ringing us up this time, again didn't add the sale price, and I didn't want to have to remind them as I had my kids with me, and I can't see the receipt until after I've paid. I'm disappointed because I really used to like this store. They send out emails about their sales and it gets me excited to go to their store, but when I get there, even though the signs are up, the employees seem to be blind or forgetful. It's kind of...
Read moreBuy milk from this farm several times. I can say with certainty that they add something to the milk so that it does not spoil for a long time. I have a lot of experience making homemade cottage cheese, as well as sour cream and cream. It is almost impossible to make this product from this milk, and the output is very small and of poor quality… If you put this milk for natural fermentation, to make cottage cheese from it later - this milk stands for several days and does not sour, which is not normal for a completely natural dairy product. I write this with confidence because I checked it. This has already happened many, many times. I do not recommend buying this milk!!! I also have a suspicion about fats. In this milk, which when shaken with difficulty dissolves in it longer than usual. I suspect that this fat is added to the milk, and it is also not a natural product that should be in this milk! But this can only be found out by submitting the milk for examination... It's a pity, a great pity, shop owners... Milk is not cheap, and when I bought it, I hoped that I was getting a completely...
