Went in with acute pancreatitis. Had it about a year ago, flared back up. I was in a great deal of pain. There was this one nurse who made sure to delay my pain meds by exactly 45 mins everytime it was her shift. I said something to her ONCE that was a mistake. I stopped talking about it and told my wife to file a complaint. That was also a mistake. She actually went and told the CEO a bunch of lies about my wife harassing them. She recorded the phone calls, she was perfectly polite. So he came to my room. I'm laying there in pain, ask anyone about pancreatitis pain. He proceeds to brow beat me for 7and a half mins. I recorded it. Making very vague accusations about harassment and protecting the staff. He couldn't actually give me one example of something rude or aggressive that either of us said, but made it clear that if I didn't get MY WIFE to shut up THAT I was going to pay for it. Idk about him but I don't own/control my wife. He also kept downplaying my pancreatitis saying things like "I know you're feeling DISCOMFORT..." again ask anyone about the pain from it. He was such an aggressive bully that I left that same day, still in great pain mind you, for my own mental health. Days later and my PTSD still has me nervous they're going to show up at my house. Avoid like...
Read moreI needed medical attention for a UTI and went to this hospital as it’s the nearest medical facility to me. I went to be seen at their walk in clinic which is in the same building as their ER. I told the clerk when I signed in that I was there for the walk in and never once did they tell me I was there before hours they told me that was okay and to have a seat. Come to find out after I was checked out and released I had been in the ER and they billed me for it! I had never been in this hospital before and so I had no idea I was in the ER. I spoke with a couple of people in the billing department and they said they’d open up a case to reevaluate the charges. After several weeks of following up with them and getting no one to answer the phone I go to the billing department and they said they can’t do anything about it because I was seen by an ER doctor.
Terrible communication! Not to mention I didn’t even get a bill for this service. I found out about the fees through my insurance.
Only good thing I can say is that the woman at the desk was very nice...
Read moreMy son was in Roane General hospital recently and had a terrible experience. He was in great pain but apparently the nurse in charge took a disliking to him and began withholding pain medication and letting him suffer in pain needlessly. My daughter in law began to call the hospital to see if they could rectify the situation and it just got worse. She asked them for someone she could file a complaint with. Instead they brought one of the big boys in to talk to my son and he proceeded to dress him down while he lay there in pain for causing trouble. Even accusing his wife of harassing the staff just because she was concerned for her husband. My daughter in law does not use profanity and there was no harassment from her. This, to me, is very unprofessional and was very spiteful. No one tried to cause trouble. Just imagine the humiliation , and that while being in pain. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone that has a choice to...
