WV Black Walnut Festival — Local services in Spencer

My wife is from Spencer and been to many of those Black Walnut Festivals in town for many years up to a few years ago. We went there this year....my first time and her 21st time and she says it was the worst BWFestival she's ever been to. We both found prices for drinks and snack foods horribly high and so-called "fresh squeezed lemonaide" tasted from the can or a mix....not sure. We ended up not eating there or buying anything and left after 5 hours and that was the only time we were there in 2023. Small carnival ride area, few food vendors and we could not find any vendors selling local goods...except for 2 near the ride areas. Prices too high like there's still a "supply chain issue".....not quite true now. Never again to this event my wife from Spencer, WVA...

This was a cool little town to visit, and this festival seemed to be a nice small town festival. There was good food, a neat little puppet show for kids, which was funny, and had a huge audience. I was a little disappointed that there were not more "Black Walnut" items, after all it is the Black Walnut Festival. There is always friendly local people that welcomes the large crowds to our town. The is a grand parade on Sat and a car show on Sunday a kid's day parade on Friday local crafts downtown vendors selling a great variety of foods. A Queens coranation and a black powder shoot on Sunday. There is something for all ages and everyone has a great time at...
