Bowl and Pitcher special gems! Bowl and pitcher is a wonderful place for a day visit and a quick getaway for local Spokane’s and travelers. Read on for special tips. Tip #1 as you enter the park on the left hand side before heading down the hill is a parking lot on the left hand side. STOP! There is a trail on the other side of other side of the fence that leads to hill that overlook where you can see the namesake view of the rocks that are behind the name of bowl and pitcher. Head on down the hill into the campground day park and you will see the welcome center where you can purchase your discover pass if you don’t have one. DONT forget to have this the fine is $150. If you turn to the right here you will find your way to the swinging bridge. Also the upper camp Grounds 17-33. These are all non powered/ and there are a few spots for rv trailers but mostly just tent and small trailer stays. There are showers and you. An also buy day passes here as well. REMEMBER to being mosquito repellant. There are two great trails on the other side that f the bridge but mosquitos are pretty fierce for the first 1/4 mile of the trails going both ways. On the bridge if you look upstream on the end of the bridge you will see picnic tables on the left side of the water Tip#2 there are many made wading pools that are safe from the pull of the running water safe for toddlers to teenagers a great place to picnic and cool off will refer to this in a moment. If you proceed up the stairs at the end of the swinging bridge you have two choices trail to the right or trail to the left. If you go to the right the trail is flat and long and a Safeway for all Ages it ends at the centennial trail and would not recommend going much farther e unless you are fit and healthy and have tons of time. If you take the trail to the left of the top of the stairs it is pretty rocky to start but if you can hang tight and keep going it flattens out eventually and runs along the side of the river where there is lots of calm water and ola es to dip in that are a bit deeper there still is a current but many a people enjoy this. Crossing back to the campground side of the swinging bridge at the very tip of the cement hill returning to the parking lot if you go to the right you will see a path, follow along this path and keep looking right and eventually you will see the path to the wading pools. There are lots of places to picnic and enjoy in this part of the park.
Camping spots 1-14 is located on the far side of the bowl and pitchers. All spots but spot #5 are backed up to the river spot 5 is one of our favorites although it’s not backed up it has three sides of privacy and is spacious spot for larger dogs. Tip#3 you walk to the very end of appt 1-5 there is group camping that is grassy and is the best walking path to the swinging bridge. Spots 6-14 are in the other side of the path all backed up to the river at he very end around 15 is another group Camping spots grassy and beautiful place at the very end of this Tip #4 is a walking path that goes all the way to the water reclamation center where at the end you wil be delighted to find an osprey and eagle nests. Make sure to visit these spots and if you like make sure to leave a note...
