This is a beautiful course, well maintained, and relatively forgiving on new and high handicap players. Now this is where the review gets its 2 stars...We had a tee time for 1431(230pm) and got carts. My wife and I are relatively new to golf, so it took us about 2 1/2 hours for my party of 3 to do the front nine. The back 9 had more par 3s so we projected we'd be done by 1900(7pm) which is when they need carts back. This is where we came to the turn and the pro shop worker stopped us and said we were taking too long and that any normal golfer would take 1 1/2 hours to do the front 9. I said we were beginners and he said it still took you too long and that he didn't want to sit and wait for us to be done by 2000(8pm) to finish, so I'll give you a rain check on the back 9 for three people. His tone was condescending and he wasn't understanding of our skill in golf, instead he mocks it because he was going to stay longer. He promptly said he's closing up after we turned in and that he was going to go fetch the last two golfers on the course who were probably at the fifth hole by then. Don't offer tee times and carts for 18 if you aren't going to honor them. This is what turns new golfers away or causes beautiful courses like this to shut down. I might not comeback to this course just because of this and I should have listened to the other low reviews of this place because they were spot on. Price for 18 and a cart were about $65 a person and I feel like that is earned just by how well they take care if it. Again the staff need to be more respectful and have more empathy. Seems to be a trend if you read the reviews. Great course, absolutely terrible...
Read moreI recently had a great experience playing a round at this golf course. While I enjoyed my time there, I couldn't help but notice a few areas that could be improved to make the course even more enjoyable.
Firstly, the course's overall aesthetics have the potential to be stunning, but it seems that the upkeep is not given as much attention as it deserves. With a bit more maintenance and care, this course could truly shine and create a more visually appealing atmosphere for golfers.
Another aspect worth considering is the pricing. Compared to other courses I've played, I found the fees here to be on the higher side. Considering the maintenance issues mentioned earlier, it's understandable to expect a more competitive pricing structure. Lowering the prices to align with similar courses that are better maintained could attract more visitors and enhance the overall value proposition.
Despite these areas of improvement, I must emphasize that I still had a positive experience overall, and I would consider returning to this course in the future. While it may not be my first choice due to the aforementioned reasons, it offers a pleasant golfing experience that should not be overlooked.
In conclusion, with attention to enhancing the course's visual appeal and a more competitive pricing strategy, this golf course has the potential to become a top choice for golf...
Read moreMy daughter who is 15 and has just found a love of this sport, went to this golf course this morning with her Navy Veteran grandpa. She has just started and her grandpa is experienced. They had been moving along nicely when they were approached by the course keeper guy (I'm sure there is an appropriate title, but I only played sports that required big balls like basketball, baseball and soccer), to tell them to let these other players play through. Esmeralda employee was incredibly nice and I have no complaints about the staff or the course, he even apologized for their actions, this is a complaint about the golfers that were there and behind them. They were rude and condescending and have made my daughter question this sport. This is not the first time that this sort of action has happened. Please be respectful of people, all they had to do was say, "can we play through?", like several other people have done. Be polite and please encourage the youth of today to participate without feeling discouraged and defeated by people who feel like they are big fish in a little pond. If we do not make them feel welcome then some sports will be done.
Thank you esmeralda golf course employees for making this a good course and thank you...
