I had an amazing day golfing at Indian Canyon — the course was in fantastic shape and the guys in the pro shop were excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant completely ruined the experience.

The lady checking us out was unbelievably rude. When I politely asked for a cup of ice, she scoffed, slammed the cup around, and slung ice everywhere like it was a huge burden. She had a sunflower tattoo on her left shoulder, faded blonde/grey hair, and was heavier set — and she gave us the absolute worst service I have ever had anywhere.

She stomped her feet, threw buckets of ice and cups around, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience just for being there. Honestly, it was uncomfortable and even intimidating. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant in my life.

The golf side of Indian Canyon is amazing, but because of that restaurant experience, I will never go back. They really need to address the staff attitude there if they care about...

Course is in good shape and a decent layout, but it was painfully slow out there. I play roughly 70 rounds a year and never in my life have I sat on a tee box with 3 other groups, and this happened 3 different times in the round...crazy. We probably spent as much time waiting on tee boxes as we did actually golfing on the day. We were so backed up on a hole, we were stuck between trying to clear the green we just finished and stay back from the next tee box, unfortunately we didn't find a good spot as one of the groups ahead of us shanked a drive off a tree and hit my wife in the head! Saw the marshall twice and he was just sitting off in the woods on his phone. 97° day and only saw the beverage cart once, when we were making the turn. Overall, could be a good spot to play but really poorly managed out there. They are lucky my wife wasn't seriously injured or they'd be looking at a lawsuit and not just...

I found Indian Canyon as a search result for nearby golf courses while leaving the Spokane airport. All I wanted to do was hit some golf balls and see if I could straighten out my slice.

It is a beautiful golf course. I never got to play it, but I did use the practice facility, which was very nice. The Professional or golf pros in the pro shop were very nice and quite helpful.

The golf course is owned and operated by the city of Spokane and the buildings on site are very interesting clad with volcanic rock and sort of a craftsman style building. The view off of the back deck (see attached photo) was pretty spectacular. The golf course is one where I would recommend renting a cart because walking it looks like a real challenge.

I look forward to my next visit and playing golf at Indian Canyon...

Golf course itself was in great shape. However on HOLE TWO the Marshall asked us to increase pace. We had a team right in front of us still on the green. At the 9th hole they drove around and reminded everyone about pace of play. Fast forward to hole 13th. No one behind us and team in front of us they came to our group again about pace of play. We Finished the round in 4 hours. It's getting harder to justify the cost of a round of golf at these places when you have over aggressive Marshall's putting a damper on things and treating groups/guests like they are a nuisance. Talked to the pro shop and they couldn't care less. Plenty of other courses around here. The monies are going downhill. Photo below as I can clearly see the Marshall issue is a common one.

Have you ever warmed up before a round and felt like your swing was trash then had a great round? Or a great warmup only to fall apart on the first tee box? Well I have and today was one of those days where my warmup was terrible and so was my game. This course is dang hard for a first timer. It’s beautiful tho and when your swing is letting you down the scenery is all you have. Oh and some joy from finding an almost new ProV1 in the bush lol. Rolling fairways and undulating greens make for a challenge that’s for sure. I’m a 10 HDCP and this course kicked my a#%. Maybe one day I’ll return and try to take this beast. Unlike my golf game the Staff was awesome and course was in mint shape.
