Took an alternator with a faulty voltage regulator back. They bench tested it and said it was good and that they werenât gonna warranty it and that the problem was my âwiring.â The location on North Division did warranty it, they are great. I will go there always. I threw a Denso Reman in my Subaru after, now it runs perfect, because the alternator was in fact the issue, like I had said. Their bench test is either dishonest, or they donât actually test the voltage regulator there, which is a common failure point. Either way, not impressed. I had to drive 3 miles with no charge from the alternator, and then another six after they refused to warranty it. All at night, so Iâm lucky I wasnât stranded from using my headlights. The staff was talking about electrical systems in a car that they didnât understand, and was telling me that the defective alternator was a functioning and it was my âpig tail.â They tried to sell me another one, which I guessing from my sample of two would have also been defective. My guess is that batch of Ultima reman for Subaru foresters was bad. None fit well and one was missing part of the casting. Which sucks for them, but donât pass it on the customer with a hack bench test to gaslight them.
If youâre unaware and it was a honest mistake. Fine, but check your machines...
Read moreThis happened last summer but Google asked me to give a review and I've been meaning to for a while. I ordered items for pickup in store. I got there and had to wait a while as there was only one cashier and long line, I try not to judge how the tills work so maybe he was the only one there who could operate it at that time. When I got to the front, they grabbed my items and brought them to me. He did insult me a bit by asking me if I ordered the right part for my car or if I misspicked the oil filter and then asked what type of car I drove. I told him i know what I picked and was confident (was it a woman thing? I do change my own filter and oil and have for a while). Since he asked what type of car I drove, I decided to ask a question about another issue I was having and if he had heard of it from either personal experience or from other patrons. I started my question and he finished it, letting on that he WAS familiar with the issue, so I asked him what it was. Now, this is where he could have gotten a sale. I was willing to buy what I needed to fix this annoying issue. His answer? "I dunno" and then he chuckled. I immediately left without another word and have not-and will...
Read moreI bought some brake pads for my truck from the manager of the store. I get home and proceed to change my pads, they were the correct parts but missing the retainer clips necessary to install the new parts. I called the store and was informed that the retainer clips are not included for the front pads, they are included with the rear set. I was told they were sold separately and not in stock at the time at that store. I'm fine with paying for the clips but it really would have been nice to be told I needed to buy more parts to install the parts you just sold me before I left the store and tore apart my rig. Never shopping...
