
UPDATE.. I have recently switched to the Columbia location because it is closer drive. I miss Springhill location but love the Columbia one just as much!! Coach Becky is such a thorough and amazing coach. She always guides, encourages, corrects and teaches with care for each and every persons needs for their level. She helps me to modify when needed and also encourages me to push myself when she knows I can do more than I think I can. I love classes with Becky and she is 50% of the reason I show up to class. I also love her guidance on diet and nutrition because she has helped me reach goals in my relationship with food that I have worked hard on. The group of friends I have made at both locations are some of the beta people I have ever met!
I have been looking for a place for fitness for many years and never seem to stick to it at many gyms Iāve tried. After one week at CrossFit thunderhead I was hooked!! The amount of encouragement and the help and guidance from the coaches has been great. All the members have also been very friendly, kind and helpful! I am very new to crossfit so having the amazing coaches to guide me has been a blessing. For me personally having a structured pre planned workout and picking a specific time that works for me makes it much easier to hold myself accountable and not have to worry about planning what workout to do each day! Zack, the owner is super attentive. He's very mindful of each athletes progress, injuries, etc. Every workout is well planned, organized and clearly explained. Even the warmups are clear and well planned. The gym has a great community of people that energize, support and cheer each other on. I honestly can't imagine doing CrossFit without the support of others.
If you're new to CrossFit I highly recommend taking the fundamentals classes. They are a great introduction to the moves you'll need to do during workouts, they give you a rough idea of what a workout generally will be like and they are a great barometer for you and the coaches to figure where you're starting your CrossFit journey at. I'm really glad I took the fundamentals classes. It might be confident to jump into workouts and like I wasn't alone in the journey.
As a whole, the coaches are great at helping you modify a workout if you need it and helping you adjust weight, reps, etc. mid-workout so that you get the most out of every workout. I've already seen progress in just 5 weeks and can't wait to see more progress in the future. I'm very grateful I found this gym and community of people. I was in good running shape but I continue to be surprised by how much better my fitness has gotten by adding in the wide spectrum of CrossFit movements including strength training, gymnastics, and more. I had never picked up a barbell or done any gymnastics movements before I joined CrossFit Thunderhead.
