wedding caterer the “deer in the headlights” look i got from the woman who took the check from me this morning when i told her “this was easily the worst experience i’ve ever had with a caterer”, was not what i would expect from someone who KNOWS how rude they are. first off, i inquired around april/may for my september wedding which is when they told me it was a busy time for them, but they would be more than happy to take on my wedding. after months of reminding the owner, i FINALLY got a total about 3 weeks before my wedding. that should’ve been my first red flag. i was promised that if i only chose one meat, my total would stay on the low side of my budget of $1500-$1800. WRONG. i was also promised all disposable containers because of not living close (we chose to go with this business because it’s very close to my hometown and HAD a great reputation). there were trays and pans that i had to drive back. no big deal. we even dropped off our personal roasters to ensure nothing would have to be returned. my mother, so graciously, took on this task for me so i didn’t have to worry about it. so rudely, they made her stand there for 10 minutes (it was timed), even after her saying “excuse me” about 4-6 times, nicely. the women working proceeded to make my mom put our roasters on the GARBAGE CAN AND FLOOR. OSHA WHERE ARE YOU??? anyway, total was sent to me, owner kept forgetting to add things & i had to ask about prices. i made sure that before the wedding, i had our agreed total so that i could have all of my vendors checks ready to go. i received a text, THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING that the owner had missed adding a price for one of the food items… ???? (the only thing that i didn’t catch was missing off of the total he gave me. the individuals who had dropped off the food were beyond rude to my 4 bridesmaids in charge. unacceptable. THEN, a bridesmaid brought down a remaining bill to me???? the original check, that was over my highest budget, was cashed that monday. and i received multiple messages about how i still owed money. weird how they were so concerned about getting their money but not taking care of anything else properly. they requested over $200 more than the original check. all i have to say is that they are lucky my husband cares because i did NOT. never again will i EVER do business here again & those that i have referred to you, will be brought to light about the AWFUL experience i had. goodluck in all your future endeavors & i hope you treat nobody else, the way that my wedding...
Read moreAlways buy local if you can. The people here are so nice and it's great to be able to buy local made things. This is where we will get our milk from now on. Also love love love the tea here.
Edit: I have gotten chocolate milk here 3 or 4 times where it has spoiled at least 4 days before the sell buy date and at most 8 days before the sell buy date. When I mentioned it to the cashier she told me she would pass the information on to the guy who delivers it, but that she can't really do anything about it since it's not their fault. Also there are 2 different flavors of tea and when I asked once what the difference was between the dark tea and the light tea the girl at the counter told me they were the same, but one was made a little different. They are 2 different flavors; the light one is minty and I think the dark one is just...
Read moreWhat a gem in the middle of rural Pennsylvania. Great service and food every-time I have been here for the last 10+ years. The hoagies are exactly what I look for with quality ingredients and very fulfilling. If ya didn’t know, they make excellent donuts. My favorite is the peanut butter with chunks of peanuts on top and filled with cream. Don’t pass this by and don’t forget about the chicken BBQs they do out front...
