I had been buying my cake supplies from the same supplier for 30 years, but due to the pandemic shutdown, she had to close permanently, so I decided to try Cake and Candy Depot. I went to the store to buy 25 cake boxes. The owner refused to sell me 25 boxes of the same size because he has some ridiculous policy of limiting quantities so that "there would be enough for everyone." Having never been to his store before, I was not aware of this policy, but even though I tried to reason with him that I was already there and he could make a guaranteed sale of 25 boxes right now, which still left plenty of boxes on the shelf for his hypothetical customers, he refused. He said he could sell me 15 boxes. The problem is, you can't put 25 cakes into 15 boxes, so I would still have to go to a second store to buy the other 10. Since he was forcing me to go to a second store, I chose to let him keep all of his boxes for his hypothetical customers who may or may not come in to buy them, and the other store got not only this $55 sale, but will get all of my...
Read moreWhen I first started baking cakes I was so happy to discover this shop. That quickly changed as the owner and his wife are ALWAYS following me around the store as if I’m going to steal something, the husband seems to ALWAYS have some type of issue with children. It’s so the point where I don’t understand why they don’t just put a sign up that says “No children allowed”. He complains that they touch things, one time he told my son he was not allowed to bring a bottle of sweet tea in the store because it’s a law you cannot bring drinks with sugar in them to a business establishment LOL! Then just recently when we went my son had to use the restroom and he tells me he needs an escort to the bathroom because he had a kid flush a toy truck down the toilet that cost him $300 the week before. The only reason I go there is is Diane’s Cake Supply in Barberton is closed. I cannot wait for her to come back...
Read moreBeen visiting for over 20 years but the guy working there the last few years is rude. I have never been so taken back when the man working tells me I only have 15 minutes to shop due to the pandemic. I could see restricting someone's time if you are at capacity but I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE. I still had a few things I wanted to purchase but his approach offended me so much that I immediately completed my purchase and left. I went to Mr. Bulky at Chapel Hill Mall and finished getting the supplies I needed without being approached by a rude employee. I used to love going to Linnea's and then Grandma's Cupboard, but now this guy is running The Cake and Candy depot and it probably won't last much longer. They have a great selection if you can get past his rude and...
