First time ever at this course and I am new to the sport just a heads up. First impressions on arrival; immaculate entrance, well kept maintenance and appearance for the club house, roomy parking lot, and 2 practice greens. Second, the cost was very reasonable for a 12:06 tee time. Third; playing 18 of the 27 holes outfitted for the grounds, South 9 and West 9, I have to say the condition this establishment keeps its courses are outstanding! Gorgeous scenery, amazing layout and design. Definitely NOT for beginners though! Lol! Thick woods lie on either side of almost every hole. Definitely made me tighten up my game and helped me learn. And lastly the people; staff and customers alike are absolutely incredible and very hospitable. Playing by myself I was able to catch up to a few groups and they had no issues letting me either play with or on thru. Very kind and respectful customers here, major plus! The staff as well, amazing, I have a lot of tattoos and don't look like the average golfer and this place did not treat me as an outcast. Overall, I absolutely loved this place. I'm here for the fun of it and this place nails it. The difficulty is highly challenging which makes it even more interesting. Can't wait to come back and see where the new pin locations are and play East 9. The only bad thing about here is the carts. I think an upgrade on their carts would be fantastic but I'm not mad at what they...
Read moreCourse is in good shape, fast greens but pace of play is HORRIBLE and no one in the club house or starters stand appear to care. Not to mention the golf carts...I thought we were going to have to get out and push it a couple of times. Played there twice this year, first time was 18 holes...over 2.5 hrs for nine holes, multiple times there were multiple groups on one hole. I mentioned it to the starter and they appeared to think that over 2.5 hrs for nine holes is good? I mentioned it in the pro-shop, when I ran in to grab a beverage and snack, and the guy said 2.5 hrs your doing good! WHAT? Made 18 holes in 5 hrs and I guess that's the norm for the course. Played there a few weeks later for 9 holes and same thing, SLOW play, no rangers making sure people are keeping up with groups in front of them close to 3 hrs for that round of 9 holes. Yeah, I won't be back....if you're looking for a good paced 9 or 18 holes go somewhere else where they actually manage the pace of play and actively help people get their rounds done in under 5 hrs. I guess with glenview it's about the revenue rather than...
Read moreI usually love Glenview. Most of the staff is very friendly and accommodating and it’s usually in good shape. HOWEVER, last night two friends and I had a tee time for 4:59. The starter came and screamed at us at 4:50 to get off the putting green. Specifically she said “HEY! On the tee box bud! Our whole league is waiting on YOU!” Again, this was 9 minutes prior to our scheduled start time. We informed her our tee time was 9 minutes away and we would be on the tee box and teeing off at our scheduled time. She proceeded again to tell us to hurry up, very rudely. I don’t know who this lady is or whether she is new to golf, but she was berating us as if we were her misbehaving children. All because we weren’t on the tee box 9 minutes prior to their start time, and they had 9 of their 27 holes closed on a night they had leagues scheduled. As if somehow that was our fault. This lady needs a serious change of attitude. I will stop going to Glenview which I have gone to for 20 years if I have to deal with...
