Fright Farm is hands down the best haunted attraction I’ve experienced in many years! From start to finish, I was blown away by the creativity, atmosphere, and especially the performances from the actors.
We went on a Thursday evening, which saved us $10 off the regular $35 ticket price. Food was surprisingly affordable, with options like burgers, chicken sandwiches, tenders, nachos, loaded fries, deep-fried Oreos, and more. There were plenty of benches to sit on, along with campfires to keep warm—great touches that made waiting much more comfortable.
The process is well-organized: upon arrival at the ticket booth you’re given a wristband with your group number. They accept debit cards and cash. A neon sign displays which numbers are up next, and when it’s your turn, you line up and board the wagon. The wait time was about an hour and a half, but with the gift shop, atmosphere, and lively crowd, it didn’t feel too long. I really appreciated that the wagons had wooden benches rather than hay—much more comfortable than a traditional hayride.
The attractions themselves were incredibly immersive. The design and scale felt closer to a Disney-level event than just a local haunted house near Pittsburgh. We took kids ages 8–9, and while it was definitely scary for them, it was also unforgettable.
Highlights included: • The Haunted Manor: Groups are spaced out perfectly, so you never run into those ahead or behind. The exhibits range from an Ozzy Osbourne/Hulk Hogan memorial to eerily realistic hanging body bags. The Egypt-themed area was my favorite—complete with wandering mummy actors and real sand on the ground. • Atmosphere & Effects: The variety of scents (from sweet potpourri to rotting flesh and garbage) added a whole new sensory layer, even if some were a bit stomach-turning! There were plenty of jump scares and sound effects, but thankfully not too much screaming directly in your ear—just the right balance. The kids especially loved the trippy tunnel that made them feel like they were turning upside down. • The Slaughterhouse: The final attraction, filled with flashing lights, chainsaws, and nightmare-like visuals. The slow-motion horror vibe was both chilling and awesome.
Overall, there’s a lot of walking, but every step is worth it. Fright Farm delivered on every level—creativity, scares, and fun. We had such a memorable time, and I can’t wait to go...
Read moreMy family goes to fright farm every year and have for a long time. We have always had a great time and literally look forward to it every October. This year however was so deeply disappointing. We drove an hour and 15 mins. Got our tickets ahead of time online. When we arrived the place was packed beyond capacity with several buses full of high schoolers and the over flow parking lot nearly full. The line was outrageous just to get into the event. We arrived around 7pm and the ride number up was 11. We were to be on ride 49….
We decided to wait around believing the wait time couldn’t be that long as generally the longest we have ever had to wait was about and hour. How wrong we were. Nearly 2.5 hrs, lots of rain showers, and only on ride number 25 we decided to leave and see about a rain check since we hadn’t even gotten close to having our number called and we were soaked from sitting in the rain since there is no shelter provided and the place was beyond packed only to be told they don’t do refunds or rain checks.
So now I am out $50 and basically paid this place to just sit around and get soaked and knocked around by unchaperoned teenagers on a Sunday night. Even the staff were irritated with the amount of guests and said that Saturday night hadn’t even been this busy.
I am not complaining about it being busy but maybe management could post up a memo for their guests on the webpage alerting them to when a busy night may occur (you know you all have reservations and can see ahead of the schedule when one of these nights may occur) and save some of us the long trip and wasted hard earned money.
This place makes millions of dollars. It felt like a slap in the face and a scam to be told no rain checks or refunds despite the glaring situation that I just described. We weren’t the only ones who left early because of the unexpected rain and absurdly long wait times due to very poor management. In my opinion it is unethical to deny those paying customers a refund or at the VERY least a rain check for another day of the week because I assure you we all would come back but seeing how my situation was handled tonight makes me not want to come back and tell others to not go either unless they want to gamble with their hard earned money and...
Read moreRecently moved to the area and was really looking forward to checking out the haunt scene. This was the second haunt of the night and boy was I glad I listened to my friend who suggested we come here second because we probably wouldn't have tome to do anything afterwards. We got in the gates and on the Midway at about 8pm. Then waited about an hour to hour and a half for iur number to come up. There really seems to be no rhyme or reason for when the numbers change. At one point they cycled through 4 numbers in what seemed like 5 minutes maybe a little longer, but then other times we were sitting for like 10 minutes waiting for a number to change. The tractor ride was by far the best part of the haunt and really seemed to be the most thought out. Then we got to the main attraction. Where we had to wait in a line to get into the first. Ok not bad I expected that especially with how many people were on your tractor ride. What I didn't expect was them to just be funneling everyone in. This led to holdups going through the haunt and a lackluster experience, that did not allow for actors (which were also lacking) to reset. The first house really seemed to have no continuity until you got to the last building of the main haunt. Going through this first section took about 30ish minutes. I was over it before we even got half way through. I understand wanting to give people a bang for their buck, but this was just long to be long. After you get done there you head to the secondary house which was number two in my book for this location. As you approach there is a sign warning you maybe touched and there is an option to bypass this haunt. This time they are trying to send through smaller groups. The wait is not long enough and everyone starts getting bottled up again. I won't go into too much detail, but this was definitely a headbanging good time. This haunt lasted only a fraction of the time as the main attraction. By the time we were finished and back at the midway it was 1130. Overall this haunt was ok, I understand it has gone downhill a little bit, which is unfortunately happening to a lot of haunts. I will be back if anything for the tractor ride and the...
