Dollar General — Local services in Spruce Pine

More convenient to my home than the other one in town. BUT most of the time you can barely get down the aisles because of stuff in the way. It seems like they NEVER have any 16 ounce water in stock the shelf is always bare. Found a couple out of date things in there also which isn't good. They definitely need more help and some friendlier cashiers. Last time I was in there it was before 5 and the lady was in a rush to get me out because she said "I was suppose to already be gone home but they were short on help and were closing at 5". I don't feel that was appropriate of her to be complaining to a customer that she didn't get to leave yet. Not for certain what the problem is in there but management isn't doing something right. Stores like this only go as far as the team that runs it. I have my likes/dislikes of dollar general as a whole. A lot of people talk about overstock and being out of certain items but i feel those problems really fall on the system. DGs has always seemed to have some issues with being consistent In my area. So this review is more directed at the employees. when it comes to locations, this is my favorite. RJ and abby are always friendly, professional, and willing to go out of their way to help you. They Usually know exactly where what you're looking for is.

Dont know what was going on with the bathrooms at the Dollar General stores in this area but I stopped at 2 different ones on 2 different days...I was told "bathrooms are out of order". I have medical issues that when I have o go, I HAVE TO GO! so they let me use the "employee" restroom. One younger lady was nice about it but an older lady didn't want me to. The layout of the store seems cramped, but most of the DG stores in this area do. I live in central Illinois and our stores there don't seem so jam packed & disorganized. The other DG store I visited was in Banner Elk. They even had a Port-a-John in the parking lot. Can't help but wonder.....were they REALLY out of order or was that the system they came up with to not have to clean up...
