Had a horrible experience yesterday at this club. On Monday, I called to make a tee time for Tuesday, knowing most courses in the area had men’s league play on Tuesdays, I’ve never had an issue playing rocky on Tuesdays. I called, and the lady told me I could only make a tee time online. I make a tee time for 3 people on Tuesday. Just by my own intuition, I took a screenshot of my confirmation. So we get to the course on Tuesday, walk into the pro shop right at our tee time, everything ready to go tee off the first hole. The man working rudely tells me I don’t have a tee time, so I show him my screenshot. Try’s zooming in all over looking at details trying to find something wrong with the confirmation, but everything was accurate. He tells me “the best I can do for you” AFTER I made a tee time the way I was told to, he proceeds to say the best we can get is 9 holes because of men’s league. I ask why we can’t play the back when we get to the turn, try’s to tell me how it just “wouldn’t work” with mens league, even after we said we wouldn’t mind being stuck in the middle of them and understood it would be slower. Tells me again “that’s just not going to work”. I told him I was going to make some calls in the parking lot but we most likely will be back. Every other course is full, so we decide to go back in, bite the bullet, and just play 9. When I go back in, the man immediately starts shaking his head at me, and before I can get a word in, barks “no” at me. I try to say that we wanted to play 9 even with the restrictions, and he continues his “no, no, no”. Then he proceeds to say “well your late. Your tee time has gone” as we showed up originally at our exact time. He try’s saying how “we forfeited our time because we left” even though we left to try to recover from his mistakes. So we in-fact did not get to play, and took our business elsewhere. I’ve worked at golf course, and worked in customer service for a long time, and never have I seen or experienced treatment like that from an employee of a place I’m trying to spend money. I’ve supported this club for 3 years, recommending it to everyone I know who golf’s, but the treatment I experienced at Rocky Ridge yesterday was completely unacceptable. I understand if the course is full, but for the first lady to tell me that’s the only way to book a time, all times are open, then to be denied because of a non specified mens league is just really poor business and customer service. Again, I’ve supported and spent a lot of money at rocky ridge, and unfortunately, taht will not continue. Anyone reading this, I recommend taking your business just 7 minuets down the road to Cedar Knoll, or a much nicer quality than rocky ridge, Williston Golf Club. Do better Rocky Ridge, especially to the locals who come out and spend their money at your...
Read moreVery nice course, would be a 5 star but the greens were just aerated which led to some issues putting, no fault of the course as it needs to be done, but have been warned prior at other course when calling for a tee time, always appreciated to know that. Staff was friendly for the limited interactions. Was a bit crowded, but has to be expected on a decent day this late in the season. The course is a beautiful location with a challenging layout. Had a couple of errant shots and loud groups on the course that were a bit irritating, lots of reminders to be respectful of the course (though many players obviously were not due to many ballmarks on greens and divots on tees), but no notices to be respectful of fellow golfers. Would still recommend it as a course to try out as it was all around a decent...
Read moreThe big fella behind the desk has a thin veneer of friendliness that just has a strange feeling of disingenuousness/rudeness - I can't really put it into words. Not a great customer service rep for a place that's in the business of customer service.
You're liable to roll an ankle in their parking lot. The food in the clubhouse is overprocessed and borderline inedible - literal gas station type cuisine. Course upkeep is generally meh and needs more attention.
For my money, Champlain CC is a way better spot. Make the trip that direction next time you...
