The Gatherings at Dorchester — Local services in St. George

I cannot express enough how amazing Cathy and Jean are, I contacted them in February of 2023 with questions about renting the venue for my wedding for 2024 and they were extremely helpful from the start, open communication the entire time and so helpful when I had to reschedule my wedding until 2025. I live out of town and Jean went so far to send me a text with a picture of the floor plan indoors and outdoors and I was able to draw out that floor plan and plan out where everything would go from that, it was super helpful but 2 days before my wedding Jean met with us at The Gatherings and I got to see the place in person and she was even willing to meet with us early evening as the sun was going down so that I could get a real idea of how everything would look since I planned my wedding for dusk. I am posting as many pics as I can so everyone can get a great idea of the space, even the kitchen and Bridal suite. I did not include pictures of the bathrooms but the ladies room has 3 stalls and one of which is larger size for the bride in her gown :) and the men's has 2. The Bridal suite was big enough for myself, my 2 daughters and my granddaughter to get ready in with the photographer also in the room. Words are not good enough to describe the beauty of the outdoors area, The lamp posts everywhere were so beautiful and the lights in the trees. Jean showed me that you can enter from the back instead of the side and I loved that option, we did not do a "first look" so my fiancé didn't see me until I came out so coming out the back was so perfect. We also did sparklers and Jean showed me the back area that was perfect for that(unfortunately those pictures did not turn out) I did include the only two that did but they are pretty dark. Also the lighting inside is adjustable, you can dim lights or turn some off and only have one set on. The Gatherings is not only more affordable then most places, they also don't have as many regulations as a lot of venues I contacted and one of the best things was we were allowed to enter the building at 9am and leave at midnight, most places only allow you in for 5 hours. We decorated the venue ourselves so being able to get in so early was so helpful. The Gatherings at Dorchester is a great place for any function, plenty of indoor and outdoor space as well as plenty of parking and I am so glad I found them but most of all you wont find such caring people anywhere else.

AMAZING, AFFORDABLE, BEAUTIFUL! This is a hidden gem for getting married in the Charleston area. The venue itself is gorgeous and suited for indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions. We opted to have the ceremony outside and reception inside. They provided and set everything up for us (chairs, tablecloths/runners, banquet tables, outdoor seating) and handled the cleanup. It was so nice not to have to worry about those details as all the linens were theirs (they have a ton of color combinations to suit anyone’s taste). It was important to us to have a dedicated venue that could host both ceremony and reception. We were able to secure the Gatherings for an entire day (9am-12am) at an incredible price. The total cost, including all of the linens, setup and cleanup, was less than half the cost to rent a bit of dirt road (1/4mile) with oak trees for only 4 hours that had no chairs, electricity or plumbing. This is a hidden gem for a wedding venue! My best friend got married here and it turned out so beautiful!! She got married in June during the afternoon, it was still pretty hot but the reception was held inside. The seating outside was kinda small but the inside was so spacious and held the guest inside perfectly. She was able to have plenty of seating, a DJ, a photo booth, buffet of food, a dance floor and a cake table. You should have lots of room for your party, all depending on the number of guests. There is a small room for the bridal party to get ready just before the ceremony. A kitchen is available for cooking. I believe you can rent tables and chairs from the venue itselt. Lots of parking is available for your guest. The area is great for pictures with the beautiful plants surrounding the area.
