On average a round of golf usually takes between four to about four in a half hours. Sometimes faster. Why in the world would they set you a tee time at 1:30 in the afternoon during daylight saving time. At 4:45 the ranger came around and said last hole and that we gotta go course is closing. The guy was extremely rude and looked and sounded like he didn’t want to wait for us to finish because he wanted to go home. It was still daylight out and only had 17&18 to play. We would’ve finished under daylight. Would never play this course again and would tell others the same. Customer service received -5 stars. Food about 2 stars. Course lay out 4 stars and course condition 1 star. They can say well it’s winter and out of season then explain why courses within 10 miles from this one are in so much better condition. Lockwood folly should just lock up and...
Read moreI always liked this course but not one to play inMarch. Fairways are not overseeded so were thin. Much of burmuda rough was grassless and many pine tree roots. Greens were dormant burmuda, offering little resistance on downhill putts. Average to above average design. Beautiful community. Nice friendly staff.
We played this course again, in late March and it was in worse shape than four years ago. Cart paths need replaced. Fairways were not overseeded. Lot of bare areas all over the course, including the greens, and it doesn't look like the Bermuda grass will cover when it gets here. Tons of tree roots. Traps need rebuilt. And many greens had an odor of mold or fermenting swamp water to them. Looks like a course about ready to close which is too bad because the community is...
Read moreInteresting course layout. Challenging due to amount of fairway bunkers but playable if you can hit it straight. 3 stars due to condition of the greens and they even had one replacement green that was in the middle of the fairway as the original green was apparently burnt out lol got a kick from trying to putt on a fairway. I’ve never understood the excuse of a “Rough Winter”. Being from Dayton, OH we would routinely have days of sub zero temps and the greens were just fine come April. Some tee boxes burnt out, but overall fairways in good shape. Several gators were out as well which was neat. I would play again assuming greens...
